• A lateral entry diploma (after Class XII Science, or ITI admission into the 2nd year) is accepted, with the qualifying percentage calculated over 4 semesters.
• A Sandwich Diploma course, including continuous industrial training without breaks, is acceptable.
• Age limit (as on 01.07.2026): General/EWS candidates: 18–25 years. OBC(NCL): +3 years relaxation. SC/ST: +5 years relaxation. PwBD (40% or more disability): +10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST PwBD, up to 13 years for OBC(NCL) PwBD). Ex-servicemen may deduct their actual military service period from their age. Total combined age relaxation across categories is capped at 15 years.
• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Selection Process

Selection for all four post codes goes through three stages.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) — One objective-type paper of 100 questions, 1 mark each, in 120 minutes. Two sections: Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude — English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Current Affairs (40 marks). There is no negative marking, and the test is conducted in English only. CBT for a post may run in one, two or three sessions in a single day.
2. Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT) — For candidates who clear the CBT cut-off decided by the Corporation. Held at the respective refinery locations, and is of a qualifying nature only.
3. Pre-Employment Medical Examination — Final appointment depends on meeting BPCL’s medical fitness norms and standards. Candidature remains provisional until appointment.
