Age, passing year and other conditions
- Age: minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years for General candidates, counted on 20 November 2026. SC, ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates get 5 years’ relaxation in the upper age limit. Candidates can check their age on that date with the age calculator.
- Passing year: the degree or diploma must be passed within five years of the 2026-27 session. That means 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
- One trade only: a candidate can apply in one trade or branch.
- EWS candidates: the EWS certificate must be issued by the competent authority.
Who cannot apply
- Candidates already registered for apprenticeship in any establishment or institute.
- Candidates who have worked in any institute for one year or more.
- Candidates who passed the degree or diploma before 2022.
- Candidates who are not original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
Selection Process
Selection for the MPPGCL apprentice drive is based on marks. MPPGCL screens the applications first, then ranks eligible candidates.
- MPPGCL checks all applications against the notice.
- MPPGCL ranks eligible graduate and technician candidates in a merit list. The list uses the percentage of CGPA marks (average of semesters) in the degree or diploma.
- Candidates with equal marks are ranked by age, and the older candidate gets priority.
- MPPGCL selects from a waiting list when needed.
- Selected candidates need Final Registration Approval on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal before MPPGCL calls them for training.
- Selected candidates must join within the set time and pass document verification and the medical check.
If SC or ST candidates are short in number, those seats are filled between the two categories first. Any seats still vacant go to other categories. Selection is cancelled if a candidate does not join in time.
The NATS passing-year rule is strict. If the degree or diploma was passed more than five years back (before 2022), Registration Approval fails, and MPPGCL cancels the selection. MPPGCL can cancel, limit or extend the selection process without notice and does not reply to candidates who are not selected.

Should you apply?
The MPPGCL apprentice drive suits fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders from Madhya Pradesh. They get one year of training at a thermal power station. It also suits BCA, B.Sc, B.A, B.Com and B.Pharma graduates who want a General Stream seat.
Candidates who need a regular salary should look at the latest jobs across India. The stipend is not a salary, and the notice promises no job after training. Candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh cannot apply.
Only 27 seats are spread across four branches, so competition within each branch can be tight. Apprentices must also arrange their own housing, travel and safety gear, and provide stamp paper for the agreement.
This is added context, not part of the official notice. Confirm with the official website.
