A. Graduate Apprenticeship (B.E./B.Tech.) — Stipend ₹12,300/month

Category split (Graduate): SC-31, ST-14, OBC-59, EWS-22, UR-94 (total 220).

B. Technician Apprenticeship (Diploma) — Stipend ₹10,900/month

Category split (Technician): SC-17, ST-8, OBC-30, EWS-12, UR-53 (total 120).

C. Apprenticeship for Commercial Practice — Stipend ₹10,900/month

Eligibility

Qualification requirements differ by apprenticeship category, as set out below. There is no separate requirement per individual discipline within a category — the same qualification norm applies to every discipline listed in that category’s table above. Other eligibility conditions from the notification:

• Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Only candidates who completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible.
• Candidates who passed the qualifying exam before 2021 are not eligible.
• Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (amended 1973), or who have one year or more of experience from any institution, or who have been terminated or resigned from apprenticeship training, are not eligible.
• Combining this apprenticeship with any other institution’s apprenticeship is not permitted.
• Candidates holding a sandwich course, private college degree, or short-term/certificate course qualification, or those currently pursuing higher studies, are not acceptable.
• Age limit: not mentioned in the official notification.

Selection process

Selection is based on academic marks and document verification — the notification does not mention a written exam or interview.

1. Candidates are shortlisted based on their percentage of marks in the concerned discipline.
2. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification.
3. After document verification, a merit panel is drawn up based on academic marks in the Degree/Diploma.
4. Apprentices are selected against vacant posts strictly in order of their position in the panel.
5. Selected candidates are informed only by email.

Candidates shortlisted for document verification are not eligible for travelling allowance, and must arrange their own lodging and boarding, at their own cost, during document verification.

How to apply

1. Visit the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and complete enrolment.
2. While enrolling, upload the Degree/Diploma certificate (as applicable) and a valid government-issued ID. On successful registration, the portal generates an Enrolment Number / Apprenticeship Registration Number.
3. Ensure the Aadhaar number is linked to the bank account and enabled for DBT payment.
4. After NATS registration, go to the UMANG portal: register and log in → search for URSC Apprenticeship → apply for the position → fill in all required details → submit the application.
5. Enter the NATS Enrolment Number / Apprenticeship Registration Number in the UMANG application form — this is compulsory.

URSC’s 2026-27 apprenticeship intake suits engineering graduates and diploma holders who passed out between 2022 and 2026 and want structured, one-year, hands-on exposure inside ISRO’s satellite technology centre, with a monthly stipend during training. It particularly suits candidates from Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical streams, where the largest number of posts are available. It does not suit candidates who have already completed or are currently doing an apprenticeship elsewhere, who have a year or more of prior work experience, or who are pursuing further studies alongside — the notification excludes all of these.
