The Commission captures marks from the scanned OMR sheet by software, with no manual step. Model answers appear on psc.wb.gov.in. Objections must reach the Commission within the time limit it sets.

PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates with a limitation in writing can use a scribe. They get a compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour with a valid Appendix-I certificate.

Paper-II sets the merit, so it takes most of the study time. Survey Engineering carries 100 of the 200 marks and is set at diploma standard. English and Elementary Mathematics carry 50 marks each. Candidates can find outlines for other exams in the syllabus archive.

Paper-I alone qualifies a candidate, so it needs steady practice and no more. Candidates should write letters and reports by hand in Bengali or Nepali, since the paper has conventional type questions. A wrong answer in Paper-II costs 0.25 marks. Candidates should leave a question they cannot answer.

Candidates can solve previous question papers under timed conditions after finishing each subject. The WBPSC Sub Surveyor syllabus is short, so repeated practice on each listed topic matters more than new books.
