General conditions
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- No person who has married a person having a living spouse, or who has a living spouse and has married another person, is eligible for appointment as officer or staff of the High Court.
- Those already in government service must apply through proper channel.
Age limit and relaxation
A candidate must be at least 18 years old on 1 January 2026. Also, the candidate must not be more than 30 years old on the last date of submission. The upper age limit is uniform for all communities of the State, and relaxation will follow the rules the Sikkim Government prescribes from time to time.
Selection Process for HC Sikkim Recruitment 2026
The High Court will first scrutinise all applications. Then, it will call only eligible candidates for the examinations in the following stages.
- Written examination: candidates who score 40% or more marks qualify for the practical test.
- Practical test: candidates who score 40% or more marks qualify for the interview/viva-voce.
- Interview/viva-voce: the court does not issue separate call letters for this stage.
Final selection depends on the combined marks in the written examination, practical test and interview. Moreover, the merit list will be uploaded on the official website and put up on the Notice Boards of the High Court.
Tie-breaking rule
If two candidates get the same total marks, the candidate with more marks in the Main Paper gets preference. However, if those marks are also the same, the older candidate gets preference.
How to Apply for HC Sikkim Recruitment 2026
This is an offline process. Follow these steps to apply.
- First, download the Employment Notice and the application form from the official High Court of Sikkim notice PDF or from hcs.gov.in.
- Next, fill in the form in your own handwriting in English, in block letters where asked, and mention the name of the post.
- Then, affix a recent passport-size photograph on the application form and on the admit card (both copies).
- After that, write your correct mobile number and e-mail address, because the Registry will use them to contact you.
- Attach self-attested copies of your certificates, experience proof and one proof of citizenship.
- Finally, send the application by speed post so that it reaches the Central Project Coordinator by 20 November 2026. You can also submit it in person at the office during office hours, before 4:30 PM on the same day.
Important: the court will reject incomplete applications that lack the required testimonials or documents. Also, it will not entertain applications that arrive after the last date and time for any reason.
