• House Rent Allowance (HRA) only where hostel accommodation is not provided, as per Central Government norms for the city.

• Travel for approved scientific events or workshops in India or abroad is treated as “on duty,” with travel entitlement of 2nd AC by rail.

Eligibility

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Qualification: BE/B.Tech with a valid GATE score, or ME/M.Tech, in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE), or a similar circuit branch.
• Experience: Not mandated for JRF.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Qualification: Same as JRF above.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of research experience (as per Annexure I).

Desirable research areas and skills (both levels)

• Research areas: Partial Discharge Monitoring, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) sensors, High Voltage Test Technique.
• Programming: C#, .NET, Embedded C/C++.
• FPGA: Verilog.
• Electronics: Analog and Digital System Design, Microcontroller Programming, PCB Design.

Note (from Annexure I): a JRF can be upgraded to SRF after two years, following a mandatory external assessment by the institution where the fellow is enrolled for Ph.D. An annual satisfactory assessment is required to continue drawing SRF-level benefits.

Selection process

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview; there is no separate written exam stage.
