Eligibility

Qualification, by apprentice type

Common conditions (both types)

• Age: 18–27 years, reckoned as on the date of this notification, 28 July 2026 (use the site’s Age Calculator with this cut-off date). Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates is as per Presidential/Government directives.
• Candidates with one year or more of training, job or work experience after acquiring the qualification are not eligible.
• Candidates who completed their Graduation/Diploma more than three years ago are not eligible.
• Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship, left one mid-way, or are currently doing one with another organisation are not eligible.
• Candidates who obtained their qualification through distance learning or part-time mode are not eligible.
• Candidature is provisional and subject to verification of certificates and testimonials at any stage; false or incorrect information can lead to cancellation.
• Only candidates found medically fit as per Corporation norms will be considered.

Selection process

RCIL will prepare a merit list for each region, state and location combination from the applications received online, giving preference to candidates from Government institutions. Shortlisting is based on the marks scored in the qualifying degree or diploma, and an interview wherever the Corporation requires one.

1. Register on the NATS 2.0 portal at nats.education.gov.in if not already registered.
2. Log in and open the RCIL apprenticeship application.
3. Fill in personal, educational and category details in the online form.
4. Upload the certificate showing your CGPA or percentage in the “Upload Certificate” column.
5. If your certificate shows only CGPA, additionally upload the CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula/certificate along with the signed undertaking (Annexure I from the notification), combined into a single PDF file under 1 MB.
6. Submit the application online before the last date, 27 August 2026.

This apprenticeship suits fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders in electronics, telecommunication, computer science or electrical branches who want structured, one-year, hands-on exposure inside a large government telecom operator without committing to years of private-sector job hunting first. The wide spread of locations means a candidate is not tied to one city and can request a preferred region.

It does not suit candidates who already have a year or more of work experience or a prior apprenticeship, since the notification excludes them outright. It also does not suit anyone looking for guaranteed permanent employment: RCIL states clearly that apprentices have no right to claim regular employment at the end of the year.
