The printout of the invitation email carries the details that decide entry. Candidates should check each one the day the mail is printed.
- Name and application number, matching the online application
- Post and pay level shown in the invitation
- Date and time of the test, against the revised schedule
- Venue line, which reads New Academic Buildings of NIT Durgapur
- Department code in the application number, for Technician and Senior Technician candidates

The campus sits on Mahatma Gandhi Avenue in Durgapur, in Paschim Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Durgapur station is on the main Howrah to Delhi railway route, so trains from Kolkata, Asansol and Bardhaman run through it.
