Zone-wise distribution (Post Code 33)

95% of these vacancies will be filled from local candidates of the respective zone; the remaining 5% is open competition, as per the state’s local cadre rules. 33⅓% of vacancies in every category, including EWS, are reserved for women as a horizontal reservation.

The pay scale above applies on regular appointment. During the institutional training period, candidates receive a stipend “as fixed by the Government from time to time” — the notification does not state a stipend amount, so this is not mentioned in the official notification.

Age limit

Candidates must have attained 21 years and must not have attained 25 years as on 1 July 2026. In addition, the Government of Telangana (GO Ms No. 87, dated 18-05-2026) has raised the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services, including Police, by 5 years, on top of the age band above.

Educational qualification

Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a Computer Science specialisation in Artificial Intelligence / AI & Machine Learning / Data Science / Networks / Cyber Security / Internet of Things, OR a BSc in Computer Science or Computer Application, from a recognised university, as on the date of the notification (29 July 2026). Medical and physical standards

Eyesight: 6/6 distant vision in both eyes on the Snellen scale; full field of vision in each eye; colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye is a disqualification.

Physical Measurement Test (after qualifying the run event):

Run event (qualifying): Men must complete 1600 metres within 7 minutes 15 seconds (Ex-servicemen: 9 minutes 30 seconds). Women must complete 800 metres within 5 minutes 20 seconds.

Long Jump / Shot-put (qualifying):

Both men and women are eligible for this post.

Selection process of TSLPRB Recruitment

Selection for ASI (FPB) has no Preliminary Written Test. Candidates go through the following stages:

1. Online Application — Part-I (registration, fee payment, photo and signature upload) followed later by Part-II (document upload), since this technical post has no prelim exam.
2. Physical Measurement Test / Physical Efficiency Test (PMT/PET) — Run event, followed by height measurement, then Long Jump and Shot-put (qualifying stages, conducted in this sequence).
3. Final Written Examination — three papers of three hours each: Paper I (English, qualifying only), Paper II (Arithmetic & Reasoning), Paper III (Technical). Final merit is based only on the combined score of Paper II and Paper III; Paper I marks do not count toward merit but must be cleared to qualify (40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC, 30% for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen).
4. Certificate Verification — original documents plus two photocopy sets.
5. Medical Examination — at the District Headquarters Hospital, with referral to Osmania/Gandhi Hospitals or Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad, for expert opinion where needed.
6. Provisional Selection and Induction Training — appointment to the regular post follows only after successful completion of training.

Candidates must carry the Intimation Letter to the PMT/PET, and the Hall Ticket to the Written Examination — TSLPRB will announce venue, date and time for each through the website. There is no waiting list; any fallout vacancy lapses for this recruitment and is not carried forward.

This post suits candidates who hold a B.E./B.Tech or BSc in computer science, IT, or a related specialisation, and who are also able to meet police-style physical standards — the run, height, long jump and shot-put requirements apply here just as they would for a regular constable or sub inspector post. It does not suit candidates who have the degree but cannot clear the physical efficiency stage, since that stage is qualifying and non-negotiable.

With only 23 vacancies spread across seven zones (some zones carrying as few as 2 posts), and 95% of posts reserved for local candidates of each zone, competition within any one zone is likely to be tight. The written exam’s technical paper carries the highest weight (200 of 300 merit marks), so candidates with a strong computer science technical base have an advantage.
