- General Manager (HR), E-7 — PG Degree/PG Diploma/MBA/MSW/MA (2-year duration) with specialisation in HRM, Personnel Management, IR, Labour Management, Organisational Development, HRD or Labour Welfare. Minimum 25 years of post-qualification experience handling the entire gamut of HR & IR functions. Upper age limit: 52 years.
- Deputy General Manager (HR), E-6 — same qualification as above. Minimum 21 years of post-qualification experience in HR & IR. Upper age limit: 47 years.
- Senior Manager (Electrical), E-4 — B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Minimum 13 years of experience in erection, testing and commissioning of electricals in Metals/Power/Oil & Gas/utility areas. Upper age limit: 40 years.
- Manager (MH), E-3 — B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 9 years of experience in design and engineering of belt conveyors, pipe conveyors and raw material handling systems. Upper age limit: 36 years.
- Deputy Manager (MH), E-2 — B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in the same conveyor/raw-material-handling domain. Upper age limit: 32 years.
- Assistant Manager (PP&EE), E-1 — B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (M.E./M.Tech preferred). Minimum 3 years of experience in hydro power engineering/O&M. Upper age limit: 30 years.

Age limit and relaxations
Age relaxation on the upper limit: 5 years for ST, 3 years for OBC(NCL), 10/13/15 years for PwD candidates from UR/OBC(NCL)/ST respectively, 5 years for J&K domicile candidates (for the 1980–1989 period), and relaxation as per extant Government of India guidelines for Ex-servicemen. A further 1 year of age relaxation is given for every additional year of experience beyond the minimum, capped at a maximum of 3 extra years. Whatever the combination of relaxations, the maximum age on the cut-off date cannot exceed 52 years. SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidates applying against a UR post are assessed on general merit, with no relaxation in age, qualifying marks or fee.
What counts as work experience for MECON Executive Recruitment 2026
The notification defines this precisely: experience must be full-time, on a regular salary, in the relevant area. Intermittent employment is counted by actual days worked. Freelance and entrepreneurial experience are not counted. Time spent as a Management/Executive/Graduate Trainee in a PSU is counted. Articleship, internship, academic-project and teaching/research experience are not counted. Apprenticeship completed under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 is counted, provided the candidate produces certificates from both the statutory body and the training organisation — but industrial or vocational training that was part of a course curriculum does not count.

Selection process
The selection process for MECON Executive Recruitment 2026 is entirely by personal interview — there is no written test.
