Should you apply?
NHB Recruitment 2026 suits candidates who already meet the long experience rules, such as 12 years for Assistant General Manager (Accounts) or Deputy General Manager (Company Secretary). It does not suit a candidate early in their career, or one who cannot move to another city, since the bank can post selected candidates to any of its offices.
Each post carries a single vacancy, so competition can be tight even though the eligibility bar is already high. The bank can also raise, cut or cancel the number of posts at any stage, and meeting the eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.
The contract post is the clearest trade-off in NHB Recruitment 2026. It pays ₹3,50,000 a month, more than the two regular Manager posts, but the contract runs for only 3 years and either side can end it with 1 month’s notice. The deputation posts suit only a serving public sector bank officer who already holds the required rank and has an employer willing to release them. Candidates can browse other current openings across India while they decide.
