This is consolidated pay plus other allowances as applicable, fixed under ESIC’s Medical Administration Office Memorandum dated 13 April 2022 and 8 December 2022. Retired employees or pensioners who join can draw full pay without deduction, since this is not treated as re-employment. They can keep drawing pension and dearness relief on pension during the contract.

Eligibility
Age limit (as on the date of interview):
- Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: must not exceed 69 years.
- Senior Resident: 45 years, except in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine, where the limit is 50 years.
- Age relaxation applies as per prevailing Government of India norms.

Educational qualification: the notice does not break this down by department. Selection process
Selection has two steps: scrutiny of documents, then an interview.
- ESIC screens every application and the attached documents.
- Candidates who clear scrutiny appear before a Selection Board. Selection is based on academic credentials and interview performance. There is no written exam.
- Results appear on the Recruitment section of the official website.
- ESIC sends the Offer of Appointment by email only.
No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview. Interview opportunities are provisional, subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility.
Terms of the contractual engagement
- Tenure: 1 year, extendable yearly up to a maximum of 3 years on satisfactory performance, or till a regular incumbent joins, whichever comes first. No one can hold these posts past 70 years of age.
- No standard service benefits: no PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority, promotion or TA/DA for conferences.
- Leave: 2.5 days of paid leave for each completed month, credited only after the month ends. No leave encashment, no half leave, no advance leave.
- Ending the contract: either side can end it with one month’s notice. A candidate who resigns on the spot must deposit one month’s salary with ESIC.
- Security deposit: selected candidates submit a refundable, interest-free security deposit of ₹30,000 as a demand draft at the time of joining. ESIC returns it after the contract ends and a No Dues Certificate is issued.
- Agreement: selected candidates sign an agreement with the Dean on a ₹100 non-judicial stamp paper, at their own cost.
- Other conditions: no accommodation is provided. Attendance is marked manually and through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System. Private practice of any kind is not allowed. Working as teaching faculty at another hospital or college at the same time is not allowed either, and breaking this can end the contract and trigger action against the candidate’s medical registration. Income tax and professional tax are deducted every month. Being absent for more than 7 days without permission counts as voluntary abandonment and ends the contract automatically.
Application fee
Application fee is nil for SC, ST, Female, Defence Ex-servicemen and PH candidates. All other categories pay ₹500. The fee is paid as a demand draft in favour of ESIC Savings Fund A/c No. 2, payable at Namkum, submitted along with the application. Fees once paid will not be refunded.
