The age limit is 18 to 30 years, counted as on 3 November 2026, the last date for submission of application. ST candidates get 5 years of relaxation against reserved vacancies. Selection process

The merit list is prepared strictly on written exam marks. The notification does not mention an interview or skill test.

1. Scrutiny of applications. Only candidates whose applications are verified and found correct get an admit card.
2. Admit card. It is sent by post in the envelope the candidate encloses with the application. The list of shortlisted candidates is posted on www.indiancoastguard.gov.in.
3. Document verification. It takes place on the day of the exam. Candidates must bring the original documents named in the admit card.
4. Written exam. It is pen-and-paper based, with a bilingual paper of 80 objective questions. Each correct answer earns 1 mark. There is no negative marking.
5. Merit list. It is published on the ICG website with instructions.

The admit card comes only in the self-addressed envelope. A wrong address or a missing stamp on that envelope can cost a candidate the admit card.

The exam centres are New Mangalore and Bhubaneswar. The exact date, time and venue will be on the admit card. Centres may change for administrative or technical reasons.

ST candidates get 2nd class rail or bus fare by the shortest route, reimbursed at the exam venue on submission of original tickets. This does not apply to ST candidates whose centre is less than 30 km from their residence, or who already work in Central or State Government service.

4. Enclose a separate blank envelope with a ₹50 postal stamp pasted on it, addressed to the candidate.
5. Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF FOREMAN OF STORES” in bold letters on the envelope holding the application. Add the category applied under. Applications without these notations are rejected.
6. Send the application by ordinary post only, to the address below, on or before the last date. Hand delivery and courier will not be considered.

Candidates working in government departments must send the application through proper channel before the due date, with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned authority.

The Annexure-I form asks for name in block letters, date of birth, father’s name, both addresses and Aadhaar number. It also asks for education and experience details, category (EWS, ST or UR), identification marks, email, mobile number and exam centre.
