Educational Qualification

• Essential: Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognised university.

Experience

• Essential:
  • Ex-Indian Navy personnel, not below the rank of Lieutenant Commander, or Ex-Indian Coast Guard personnel, not below the rank of Deputy Commandant.
  • Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in Indian Navy, Coast Guard, ship building, ship repair or an engineering company, in installation, maintenance, repairs, trials or commissioning of weapons-related machinery, communication, sensors and combat management systems on naval vessels.
  • Candidates in PSU/Government/Autonomous body regular cadre need one year of experience in the immediate lower scale of pay or equivalent; private-sector or contract-roll candidates need a CTC comparable to CSL’s immediate lower pay scale.
• Desirable: experience in business development at a shipyard; executing and managing contracts; working knowledge of Classification Societies, Marine Inspection Agencies or other marine installations; experience in refit monitoring or warship overseeing teams; and ERP/SAP work experience.

Age

• Upper age limit: 40 years as on 10 August 2026 (applicants must be born on or after 11 August 1986).

Selection Process

CSL first scrutinises applications against the notified eligibility criteria. Shortlisted candidates are then called for a three-part selection process, held at CSL Kochi or through interview via electronic media.

1. Work experience assessment — evaluated from submitted documents (40 marks).
2. PowerPoint Presentation — shortlisted candidates present their work experience, in a session of not more than 10 minutes (30 marks).
3. Group Discussion (10 marks).
4. Personal Interview (20 marks).

Total: 100 marks. Candidates appearing for the selection process at CSL are reimbursed single to-and-fro third AC rail fare, by the shortest route from the address in their application to CSL Kochi, on production of proof. This reimbursement does not apply if the interview is conducted through electronic media.

Application fee is ₹1,000/- (non-refundable, plus bank charges extra), payable online via debit card, credit card or internet banking, from 24 July 2026 to 10 August 2026.
