• A/2/2026-SC-L: M.Sc in Physics/Optics/Photonics. Desirable: hands-on experience with laser systems, photonics and optical spectroscopy setups, analog/digital electronic and optoelectronic instruments. Age limit 33 years.
• A/3/2026-SC-T: M.Sc in Physics/Applied Physics. Desirable: electron microscope operation and sample preparation, electron microscopy data analysis and image processing, prior electron microscopy/research lab experience. Age limit 33 years.
• A/4/2026-SC-F: M.Sc in Physics/Electronics, plus minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in x-ray synchrotron beamline development, beam optics, electronics, or instrumentation. Desirable: experience operating medium/high energy ion beam accelerators, a beam optics simulation course or advanced degree in ion beam accelerators. Age limit 33 years. This post involves shift duty at the FRENA accelerator facility, SINP, and at the SINP beamline at the Indus-2 synchrotron, RRCAT, Indore.

Scientific Assistant ‘B’ posts

• B/1/2026-SAB (COMP): Diploma in Computer Software Technology or Computer Science & Technology. Desirable: HPC cluster management, Linux/Unix scripting (Python, Bash, Perl), cybersecurity, virtualization, job schedulers (SLURM, PBS Pro). Age limit 30 years.

Technician ‘B’ posts

All Technician ‘B’ posts require HSC or SSC pass, plus an ITI pass (minimum 1 year duration) in the trade named, plus 3 years’ experience in that trade.

• C/1/2026-TB (Comp): ITI in Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance. Desirable: PC/printer troubleshooting, LAN/Wi-Fi setup, Python/PHP/HTML/CSS.
• C/2/2026-TB (WKS): ITI in Welding Trade. Desirable: TIG welding on stainless steel, gas cutting and brazing.
• C/3/2026-TB (BMC-1): ITI in Draughtsmanship (Civil). Desirable: AutoCAD certification, 3 years’ civil R.C.C./structural drawing experience.
• C/4/2026-TB (BMC-2): ITI in Carpentry Trade. Desirable: wooden fabrication and maintenance, aluminium door/window/partitioning work.
• C/5/2026-TB (ELEC): ITI in Electrician/Electrician & Wireman Trade. Desirable: substation and DG set maintenance, electrical workman’s permit.
• C/6/2026-TB (AC): ITI in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician. Desirable: HVAC erection and commissioning.

• C/9/2026-TB (FRENA): ITI in Electronics Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic / Mechanic (embedded systems and PLC). All Technician ‘B’ posts have age limit 25 years.

Administrative & Auxiliary posts

• AAO-I (B/7/2026-AAO-I): Deputation only — officers holding an analogous post in DAE/aided institutions, or with minimum 3 years’ regular service in Pay Level 6. Age limit: as per GoI deputation norms.
• LDC (C/10/2026-LDC): Graduate from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks. Desirable: typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English, a certified computer course, accounting software knowledge. Age limit 27 years.
• Security Guard ‘A’ (C/11/2026-SGA): For Ex-Servicemen with minimum 15 years’ service: SSC or equivalent from Armed Forces, plus GoI physical fitness standard. For civilians: SSC or equivalent, plus GoI physical fitness standard, plus 2 years’ relevant experience. Age limit 27 years.
• Work Assistant ‘A’ (C/12/2026-WA): SSC or equivalent, plus minimum 1 year’s experience in the relevant field. Age limit 27 years.
• Halwai-cum-Cook (C/13/2026-Cook): 10th class pass with a Certificate/Diploma in Catering, plus 2 years’ experience, preferably in a government department/undertaking. Age limit 25 years. Candidates with only a 10th pass certificate can check other entry-level openings under the site’s 10th pass jobs tag.

Age relaxation

Date of Birth as filled in the online form, matching the Matriculation/Secondary certificate, is final — no later request for change is considered. EWS certificates must be issued for Financial Year 2025-26 to be valid for this recruitment. OBC(NCL) candidates must not fall in the creamy layer as on the closing date of the online application.

Selection process

Selection procedure differs by post category. In every case, the notification specifies which stage the final merit list is based on.

1. Scientist ‘C’ (all 4 posts): shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. A written test may also be held, but it is qualifying in nature only. The final merit list is prepared from interview marks alone.
2. Scientific Assistant ‘B’ and Technician ‘B’ (all 15 posts): Phase I is a written test, qualifying in nature. Phase II is a trade test for candidates who qualify Phase I. The final merit list is prepared from trade test marks alone.
3. Assistant Administrative Officer-I: a written exam, combined with perusal of the candidate’s APAR (Annual Performance Appraisal Reports).
4. Lower Division Clerk: Phase I is a written test. Phase II is a typing skill test, qualifying in nature. The final merit list is prepared from written test marks, among candidates who clear Phase II.
5. Security Guard ‘A’: Phase I is a Physical Fitness Test, qualifying in nature. Phase II is a written test for candidates who clear Phase I. The final merit list is prepared from written test marks alone.
6. Work Assistant ‘A’: an MCQ-based written test. The merit list is prepared from these marks directly.
7. Halwai-cum-Cook: Phase I is a written test, qualifying in nature. Phase II is a cooking skill test for candidates who qualify Phase I. The final merit list is prepared from skill test marks alone.

Candidates who are not employed at the time of application but become employed before the interview/trade/skill test must arrange a No Objection Certificate with vigilance clearance and submit it to SINP, or produce it at the test itself.

Application fee

Application fee is ₹500 for Scientist ‘C’ and Scientific Assistant ‘B’ posts, and ₹300 for all other posts (Technician ‘B’, AAO-I, LDC, Security Guard ‘A’, Work Assistant ‘A’, Halwai-cum-Cook). Fee is payable by online remittance only and is non-refundable once paid.

• Exempted from fee: all women candidates, PwBD candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and candidates applying for the Deputation post.
• SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee only for posts specifically reserved for SC/ST.
• Candidates applying for more than one post must apply separately, with the applicable fee, for each post.

This notification suits a wide range of candidates, from 10th-pass applicants (Halwai-cum-Cook) to M.Sc physics graduates with niche instrumentation skills (Scientist ‘C’). The Scientist ‘C’ posts are the most restrictive — all 5 are reserved for PwBD candidates, so they are not open to the general applicant pool, whatever the academic qualification.
