Eligibility

1. Represented the country in a recognised international competition, cleared by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
2. Represented a State/UT in National Games or a Senior/Junior National Championship recognised by the Department of Sports, or National Games run by the Indian Olympic Association, with a medal or position up to third place.
3. Secured first or second position in an individual event at Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter-University Sports Board, or reached the finals in a team event there.
4. Won a Gold or Silver medal, individual or team, at a Junior National level Games/Championship/Meet recognised by the Department of Sports.

Sports qualification for Constable (GD)

A candidate must meet at least one of these, in the same 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026 window:

1. Represented a State in a Senior or Junior National level Games/Championship recognised by the Department of Sports.
2. Represented a State School Team at the National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), with a medal or position up to third place.
3. Represented a State/UT at Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games or Khelo India Winter Games, with a medal or position up to third place.
4. Represented a University at Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board.

Persons with disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible for this recruitment. Candidates already serving in a Government or semi-Government department must apply through their employer with a No Objection Certificate in the format at Annexure-A; an application without it will not be accepted.

Age relaxation

The crucial date for claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS status is the closing date for applications, 11 November 2026. Certificates must be in the exact format at Annexure-E to Annexure-I; a certificate in any other format is not accepted.

Marking scheme for sports achievement

The merit list is built entirely on these marks. A candidate is scored only for the single highest medal or position secured in the eligible period; marks from a second medal are not added.

Order of preference

1. Represented the country internationally, with Department of Sports clearance.
2. Represented a State/UT at Senior or Junior National Championships, or National Games, with a medal or position up to third place. Between the two, a Senior National medal ranks above a Junior National medal.
3. Represented a University at an Inter-University competition, or at Khelo India University Games, with a medal or position up to third place.
4. Represented a State/UT at Khelo India Youth Games or Khelo India Winter Games, with a medal or position up to third place.
5. Represented State Schools at the National Games for Schools (SGFI), with a medal or position up to third place.
6. Represented a State/University/School Team at the levels above but did not win a medal or position, in the same order.

If candidates tie on marks, the Recruitment Board checks achievement in National competitions next, then age (older candidate first), then name in English alphabetical order.

Who can sign your sports certificates?

A certificate signed by anyone else will not be accepted. The notice adds that the sports achievement must be dated within two years of the advertisement’s publication date, 30 September 2026.

Physical Standards Test

Weight must be proportionate to height and age, checked against the medical standards table at Annexure-D of the notice; doubtful overweight cases are decided on BMI. A candidate declared unfit on height or chest can appeal on the same day to the appellate authority named by the Board Chairman; that decision is final.

CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 – Selection process

1. Identity and biometric verification for every candidate, at the start and again at any later stage.
2. Documentation — original certificates for age, education, caste and sports achievement are checked by the Recruitment Board; self-attested copies are then collected.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) — height and chest as per the tables above. A pregnant candidate is declared temporarily unfit and re-examined for PST six weeks after confinement, with the reserved vacancy held for her.
4. Sports Trial Test, conducted for the candidate’s own discipline. No marks are given here; a candidate who fails the trial is dropped from the process. Candidates may be subject to a Dope Test on the day of the trial, and there is no re-conduct of the trial on appeal.
5. Merit list, based only on the marks table above.
6. Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
7. Review Medical Examination (RME), only for candidates found unfit in the DME who give written consent within 24 hours; it is normally held the next day.
