This is not a fresh application window. The Commission closed the original CMSE 2026 application process on 31 March 2026, and the written examination was already held on 2 August 2026. This update is for candidates who cleared that written exam and need to complete their mandatory portal login before the Personality Test. Candidates should check all details in the article below.

The Commission declared the CMSE 2026 written result on 1 September 2026. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in that result must now log in and confirm their details using the extended window. Candidates can access the form through Login > Examinations > Apply for Examinations > CMSE-2026 Update on the UPSC portal.

Candidates who did not apply by the original 31 March 2026 deadline, or who did not qualify in the written exam, cannot use this window to submit a new application. The CMSE 2026 application process is closed for new candidates.

How to complete the update
The steps below follow the process the Commission set out for candidates who qualify for the Personality Test or Interview.
- Log in to the portal at upsconline.nic.in using the Universal Registration Number (URN) and password.
- Go to Examinations, then Apply for Examinations, and select CMSE-2026 Update.
- Confirm whether the qualifying MBBS examination has been passed or is still pending, and upload proof.
- Update any other applicable details, such as postal address, higher qualification or employment status.
- Submit the form again before 23 September 2026, 6:00 PM.
Candidates who have already uploaded everything and have nothing new to update must still log in and submit again, since this step generates the e-Summon letter for the Personality Test.
What happens if a candidate misses the deadline
The original notification states that candidates who fail to complete this update will not be allowed to take part in the further stages of the examination. The Commission has also said it will not enter into correspondence on this once the window closes.
