Should You Apply?
The STPI Apprentice Trainee post suits recent graduates who want a year of exposure to a central government IT body, without committing to a permanent role. Selection depends only on an interview, with no written exam, which favours candidates who present their academic background and interest in IT infrastructure or exporter services clearly. The stipend is modest for a fresh graduate, though performance in the interview can raise it to ₹20,000 a month. This is a one-year apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. The notification does not mention any path to a permanent STPI post afterward. Candidates who completed their degree before June 2021, or who have already served an apprenticeship elsewhere, are not eligible. For a graduate who wants IT-sector experience on a government platform and does not need a permanent role immediately, this is a reasonable one-year option.
