Eligibility

Scientist B (Medical)

  • Essential qualification: MBBS from a recognised University or Institution.
  • Candidates with postgraduate qualifications and experience in virology, infectious disease diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, disease surveillance or biomedical research will be preferred.
  • Desirable qualification and experience: MD, DNB, DM or MDS in a related subject from a UGC-recognised University; a Ph.D. in a related subject from a UGC-recognised Institute; postdoctoral research or training experience; experience in virology or molecular diagnostics laboratory work; NABL accreditation experience; computer applications; and research experience in the relevant subject after the essential qualification.
  • Higher qualification and experience beyond the essential requirement is an advantage for shortlisting.
  • An MD, DNB, DM or MDS in a relevant subject is treated as equal to three years’ experience, and gets priority over other candidates.
  • Upper age limit: 45 years.

Laboratory Technician

  • Essential qualification: 10+2 (12th pass) in Science with DMLT or MLT, or a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or Life Sciences, as applicable.
  • Relevant laboratory experience in sample processing, serology, PCR, RT-PCR and molecular diagnostics may be preferred.
  • Desirable qualification and experience: experience in a Virology Laboratory, or a clinical or research Microbiology laboratory, particularly in sample processing and serological or molecular diagnostic techniques. Knowledge of computer applications and experience in infectious disease or virology laboratory work will be an advantage.
  • Upper age limit: 45 years.
