Local context
NIPER Kolkata is located at Chunilal Bhawan, 168 Maniktala Main Road, in north Kolkata. This is added context, not part of the official notification: Maniktala sits close to the Sealdah rail area, one of Kolkata’s main railway terminals, so candidates travelling from other districts of West Bengal, or from neighbouring states, can generally combine a train journey with a short road connection to reach the campus, rather than depending on a single mode of transport. Kolkata is also home to several other pharmaceutical and life-science institutions, giving candidates in this field a wider academic and research base in the same city. Confirm the exact route and travel time with the institute or a map service before travelling for the written test, skill test or interview.
Important dates

Should you apply?
This is added context, not part of the official notification. Confirm with the hiring office before deciding. These four posts suit different candidates. The Associate Professor post fits an experienced pharmaceutical academic or industry researcher with a Ph.D. and a strong publication record — it is a single backlog vacancy, so competition will be narrow but concentrated among senior candidates in Pharmaceutical Analysis. The Assistant Registrar post suits candidates with established supervisory experience in university or research-institute administration, rather than fresh postgraduates. The Receptionist-cum-Telephone Operator and Junior Technical Assistant posts are more entry-level and open to a wider pool of graduate and 12th-pass candidates respectively.
Because each post has only one vacancy, competition is narrower than a large state-level exam, but also less predictable — a single strong applicant fills the seat. One honest trade-off applies across all four: direct recruitment appointments carry a probation period before confirmation, and the teaching post can also be filled on deputation, which is time-bound rather than permanent.

The Assistant Registrar post is at Pay Level 10 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. The notification does not mention the exact monthly basic pay figure. Usual central government allowances and National Pension System coverage apply.
Is there an application fee for NIPER Kolkata recruitment 2026?
Yes. The fee is Rs. 2,000 for the teaching post and for non-teaching posts at Pay Level 10 and above, and Rs. 1,000 for the remaining non-teaching posts. SC, ST, Persons with Disability, women and deputation candidates do not have to pay a fee.
Is NIPER Kolkata recruitment 2026 competitive?
This is added context, not part of the official notification. Each post at NIPER Kolkata has only one vacancy, so competition is narrower than a large open exam but concentrated among candidates who meet that specific post’s qualification and experience bar — especially the Associate Professor post, which requires a Ph.D. and an established research record.
