This is added context, not part of the official notice. Confirm with the official website.
Eligibility
Candidates must read, write, speak and understand one local language of the State or UT they choose. Candidates can apply in one State or UT only. The bank checks eligibility as on 1 October 2026.
The UCO Bank apprentice notice sets one qualification for every State. Candidates need a graduate degree from a university or institute that the Government of India or its regulatory bodies recognise. The mark sheets and the provisional or final degree certificate must be for graduation on or after 1 April 2022.
Candidates must be Indian citizens. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1962 to settle, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam to settle in India can also apply. These candidates need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
The age limit is 20 to 28 years. The upper limit of 28 years applies to UR and EWS candidates. The bank allows no change of category at any stage. Candidates can check their age with the Age Calculator before applying.
OBC candidates need an OBC (NCL) certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026. Creamy layer candidates must apply as General. EWS candidates need an Income and Asset Certificate valid for FY 2026-27 for the financial year 2025-26.

Who cannot apply
A UCO Bank apprentice candidate must clear every exclusion below.
- Candidates who already did an apprenticeship with UCO Bank or another organisation, or who are doing one now.
- Candidates whose earlier apprenticeship was ended by their organisation.
- Candidates with training or job experience of one year or more after finishing their education.
- Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen. The notice reserves no seats for them.
- Candidates who send two or more applications. The bank rejects them.
Selection process
The bank selects apprentices through an online test and document verification. The UCO Bank apprentice selection draws a merit list State-wise and category-wise.
Online test pattern
BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC) conducts the objective online test on 7 November 2026 at 11 am. The test has 100 questions and 100 marks, and it runs for 60 minutes in English or Hindi.
| Test | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General/Financial Awareness | 25 | 25 |
| General English | 25 | 25 |
| Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude | 25 | 25 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 25 |
| Total | 100 | 100 |
Qualifying marks
| Category | Minimum marks |
|---|---|
| General and EWS | 40 out of 100 |
| SC, ST, OBC and PwBD | 35 out of 100 |
Stages
- Online test. Candidates must clear the minimum marks above.
- Merit list. The bank ranks qualified candidates by written marks, highest first, in each State and category. If candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher.
- Document verification and local language test. Candidates who fail the language test are not engaged. Candidates with a Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet showing they studied the local language skip the test.
- Medical fitness. The bank engages candidates only after it declares them medically fit.
The bank may declare a wait list at its own discretion to fill seats left by selected candidates who do not accept or report. The test agency also checks answer patterns across candidates. The bank can cancel the candidature of anyone whose responses appear shared.
Application fee
The fee for the UCO Bank apprentice test depends on category and gender. Candidates pay a non-refundable fee online to BFSI SSC through the secure payment link in the application form. The fee stays payable whether or not the candidate sits the test or gets selected.
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| SC and ST | ₹200 plus GST |
| PwBD | ₹200 plus GST |
| General, EWS and OBC (male) | ₹800 plus GST |
| General, EWS and OBC (female and transgender) | ₹600 plus GST |
The bank accepts no other mode of payment. Candidates should pay only through the official link and never pay an agent.
How to apply
Applying for a UCO Bank apprentice seat takes two steps, and the order matters. Candidates who skip the NATS step cannot move to the second.
Step 1: Register on the NATS portal
- Open nats.education.gov.in and go to the Student Register/Login section.
- Register with a valid personal email ID and contact number. Keep both active until the process ends.
- Upload the photograph, signature and documents that the portal asks for.
- Log in, open the UCO Bank apprenticeship advertisement and apply.
- Note the enrolment ID that NATS issues. Candidates need it for all later correspondence.
Step 2: Complete the application with BFSI SSC
- Watch the inbox for an email from info@bfsissc.com. BFSI SSC sends it to every candidate who applies on NATS.
- Open beep.bfsissc.com and fill in the caste category, the choice of districts and the other details.
- Spell the name exactly as it appears in the certificates and mark sheets. Details must match those on NATS, or the candidature may be disqualified.
- Enter the graduation percentage to two decimals. Convert any CGPA or OGPA into a percentage.
- Check every entry, since the form allows no change after submission.
- Pay the fee online by 29 October 2026.
BFSI SSC sends the exam link and login details a day before the test. Candidates take the test from their own residence on a camera-enabled desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. They must show the Aadhaar card uploaded on NATS to the camera and stay apart from family members. Only PwBD candidates may have someone nearby.
Documents to keep ready
- Date of birth proof
- Graduation mark sheets and provisional or final degree certificate
- Aadhaar card, uploaded on NATS
- Photograph and signature
- Caste certificate in the Government of India format (SC, ST)
- OBC (NCL) certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026
- Income and Asset Certificate (EWS)
- Disability certificate and UDID card (PwBD)
- Certificates for age relaxation, in original with photocopies
- A certificate from the university on how it converts grades into percentage, where the degree carries a CGPA or OGPA
- Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet showing the local language, if the candidate claims the exemption

| Notice released | 13 October 2026 |
| Online registration opens | 14 October 2026 |

After the training period
The notice treats every UCO Bank apprentice as a trainee, not as a worker or employee of the bank. The bank gives no benefits that its employees receive, and PF, ESI and Bonus do not apply. Apprentices have no right to claim employment in the bank after training, and the bank has no duty to offer regular employment.
The contract ends on its own when the training period expires, and candidates leave the area after training. Selected candidates sign a Contract of Apprenticeship before training starts. Apprentices cannot join or form a union.
Should you apply?
The apprenticeship suits graduates up to the age limit who want one year of practical bank training with a stipend. Candidates from North Bengal or Sikkim should note the trade-off of seats. Six States and UTs, including Sikkim, have only 1 seat each, so competition there can be tight.
Candidates who need a regular salaried bank job should skip it, because the notice offers none. The stipend is not a salary, and the bank provides no hostel or transport. Candidates must also pay the exam fee before they know the result. This UCO Bank apprentice drive rewards early, careful applications with matching documents. Candidates can find more training notices in the apprentice vacancy updates.
