Two rules apply across all posts. Candidates with a degree in an allied branch, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering, can also apply, if they meet the experience needed. Candidates can apply for only one position, whichever suits them best.

Age, qualification and experience are counted as on 7 October 2026.

Conditions for government, PSU and private sector candidates

Candidates working in central or state government, autonomous bodies, quasi-government organisations or PSUs must send their application through the proper channel within 10 days of the closing date. They can instead produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of assessment. Without either, they can still attend the interview, but must submit a relieving letter when they join, and get no pay protection or carried-forward service benefits. These candidates must also have worked at least one year in the scale immediately below the one applied for. This does not apply to Grade II posts.

Private sector candidates must be employed in a regular capacity, at a company registered under the Companies Act. They submit an experience certificate on the company’s letterhead. BEML does not count freelance work as post-qualification experience. For Deputy General Manager, General Manager and Chief General Manager posts, private sector candidates must also give their current reporting structure. For General Manager and Chief General Manager posts, the employer’s annual turnover must be ₹1,000 crore or more, and candidates from listed companies get preference.

Internal BEML executives can apply if their application reaches BEML through the proper channel, and they have at least three years of residual service left as on the closing date.

Should you apply?

This recruitment suits engineers and managers with the exact post-qualification experience for the grade they are applying to, from two years for an Engineer post to 21 years for Chief General Manager. Candidates from government, PSU or private sector backgrounds can apply, and BEML’s own executives can apply internally. Freshers, and candidates short of the minimum post-qualification experience, do not qualify for any position here. The posts also carry a real trade-off. Senior posts like General Manager and Chief General Manager need proof of a large employer, since private sector candidates for these grades must show an employer turnover of at least ₹1,000 crore. Each candidate can apply for only one position, so choosing the right one matters more than in a typical government job. The pay is fixed by grade, not negotiated, and rises from ₹40,000 at Engineer level to ₹2,80,000 at Chief General Manager level.
