• 6 years of regular service as a PGT in any teaching subject in a recognised CBSE school. OR 10 years of combined service as a PGT/TGT in a recognised CBSE school, with at least 3 years as a PGT.
• Age: minimum 35 years, maximum 45 years, as on 1 April 2026. The upper limit goes up to 55 years for regular Army Public School employees and ex-servicemen.
• IT proficient, with working knowledge of computers, MS Office and MS PowerPoint.
• Additional desired qualifications: PhD, M.Ed and at least 3 years of administrative experience in a recognised CBSE school.
• Army Public School employees already working as PGT or TGT need to meet only the experience and age criteria.
• Pay: negotiable, as per CBSE/AWES guidelines, with special incentives for outstanding candidates.

Headmaster/Headmistress

• Graduate in any subject, with minimum 50% marks in each subject and in aggregate.
• B.Ed, M.Ed, B.El.Ed, or a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
• At least 8 years of teaching experience, including at least 5 years as a PRT in a CBSE-recognised school.

• B.Ed. Special Education with a Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Special Education (PGPC). OR
• PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability: Physical and Neurological). OR
• PG Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy). OR
• Any other equivalent qualification approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• Mandatory: a valid RCI registration number.

PRT (Computer Science) — 1 post

• BCA, or graduation in Computer Science, or BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or IT. OR
• Graduate in any subject with an A-level course from DOEACC, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Government of India.

• B.El.Ed or a 2-year D.El.Ed. Teachers already serving with Army Public Schools/APPS before 11 August 2023, holding a B.Ed degree, can also apply or continue if they complete the Bridge Course launched by NCTE.
• Must have passed CTET or TET, conducted by CBSE or a state government, for PRTs, as per NCTE guidelines.
• Must be able to teach in English and Hindi medium.
• Should know computer applications.

PRT (Physical Education Trainer/Karate Instructor) — 1 post, preferably a lady candidate

Any one of these qualifies:

• Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education as an elective, with 50% marks. OR
• Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education as an elective, with 45% marks, plus participation in a National, State or Inter-University competition recognised by the Association of Indian Universities or the Indian Olympic Association. OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 45% marks, plus participation in National, State or Inter-University sports, games or athletics. OR
• For in-service deputed candidates (trained Physical Education teachers or coaches): graduation with 45% marks and at least 3 years of teaching experience, as per NCTE norms. OR
• Graduation in Physical Education with 40% marks. OR
• Graduation with Physical Education as an elective, with 40% marks. OR
• Graduate who took part in school or inter-collegiate sports, or holds an NCC ‘C’ Certificate, as per NCTE norms notified on 10 December 2007. OR
• Graduation in Physical Education (B.P.Ed course or equivalent), of 3 years’ duration. OR
• Graduate who represented a State or University in sports, games or athletics. OR
• Graduate who secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in inter-collegiate sports tournaments, or holds an NCC ‘C’ Certificate, or has passed a basic course in Adventure Sports. OR
• Graduate with a 1-year training programme in Sports Science, Sports Management, Sports Coaching, Yoga, Olympic Education or Sports Journalism, as per NCTE norms notified on 13 November 2002.
• In addition to any one option above: a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) of at least 1 year duration, or its equivalent, from an NCTE-recognised institution.

TGT (Bengali) — 1 post, anticipated

• A 4-year Integrated Degree Course from a Regional College of Education of NCERT, in Bengali, with at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR
• Post-graduation with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade, plus a 3-year integrated B.Ed/M.Ed. OR
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in Bengali and in aggregate, having studied Bengali as a subject in all three years of graduation.
• B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised institution or university, with a minimum of 50% marks.

Selection Process

1. The school management screens all applications. Only shortlisted candidates get a panel interview. No TA/DA is paid for attending.
2. All candidates take a computer proficiency test and a class demonstration on the day of the interview.
3. Candidates for the TGT (Bengali) and TGT (Nepali) posts also take a language proficiency test on the same day.
