Eligibility Criteria

To apply for RBI Grade B posts, candidates must meet certain education and age requirements. Applicants should carefully check all the conditions before filling out the application form.

Educational Qualification:

  • General Cadre: Graduation in any discipline with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR Post-Graduation with 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • DEPR Cadre: Master’s Degree in Economics or Finance with at least 55% marks.
  • DSIM Cadre: Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science with 55% marks, or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in these subjects with 60% marks.

Age Limit (As of 1st of April 2026):

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (Born between 2nd of April 1996 and 1st of April 2005).
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 10–15 years for PwBD candidates. Candidates with M.Phil. or Ph.D. get relaxation up to 32 and 34 years respectively.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern Officers in Grade B 2026 Jobs

Candidates should understand the exam pattern carefully before starting preparation. The RBI Grade B General exam has four main subjects in Phase-I. In Phase-II, candidates also have to write descriptive answers by typing on a computer.

  1. Phase-I (General): Objective tests covering General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning (200 marks, 120 minutes).
  2. Phase-II (General): Three papers including Economic and Social Issues (Objective + Descriptive), English Writing Skills (Descriptive), and General Finance and Management (Objective + Descriptive).
  3. DEPR/DSIM: Specialized papers focusing on Economics or Statistics and an English descriptive paper.
