Should you apply?
These posts under ISI Kolkata recruitment suit candidates who want research work at a national institute and can accept a fixed term. Every post is temporary, and the Institute states that no post gives a right to permanent employment.
The Research Associate post needs a PhD, which narrows the field. The Junior Research Assistant posts need a first-class MA and NLP experience. The Project Associate-I posts take a wider group of graduates, so applications are likely to be heavier there.
The main trade-off is the term. Most posts run only until 31 March 2027 at first, and the Research Assistant posts run for three months. Candidates should weigh the pay against Kolkata’s living costs. Candidates can also follow more government job updates for permanent openings.
