What happens at the walk-in

Selection is through the Bokaro walk-in interview, followed by a medical screening. Engagement starts after selection ends and the company issues orders.

The company pays no TA or DA for attending the interview or selection process. It can reject any application, cancel the process or engage fewer doctors than listed. Its decision is final.

Non-SAIL doctors can get company accommodation (2 BHK or equivalent) on payment, subject to availability. Rent, electricity and water charges follow the rates for SAIL employees. Ex-SAIL employees up to E-7 grade can keep an allotted quarter on the same terms.

Doctors who are not ex-SAIL employees get medical benefits for self and spouse at the unit hospital only. The hospital makes no referrals to outside hospitals. Ex-SAIL employees keep the benefits that apply to them.

The company can end the contract early for poor performance, loss of licence, grave misconduct or medical unfitness. The engagement is purely contractual and gives no right to a regular post at Bokaro Steel Plant. Candidates who want a regular post can browse the latest jobs in India.

Should you apply?

The Bokaro walk-in interview suits doctors who can join quickly and accept a fixed term. Retired doctors can apply up to the age of 69 years. GDMO posts need only an MBBS and carry 7 vacancies, so they form the widest entry point. Each Specialist discipline has just 1 post, so competition for each is likely to be tight. The trade-offs are a first tenure of one year, no HRA, a 48-hour week and no outside hospital referrals. Candidates who prefer a permanent post can follow government job notices.

This is added context, not part of the official notice. Confirm with the office.
