SSC JE Admit Card 2026: Admission Certificate Timing
The Commission says the SSC JE admit card 2026 and Admission Certificates for all exams are issued 2 to 3 days in advance, as is its usual practice. They are available through the same login module. The notice describes this timing as tentative.
The earlier tentative vacancy article on this site mentioned a 3 to 4 day window for the SSC JE admit card. The 23 October notice is the latest word and gives 2 to 3 days, so plan for that shorter window.
SSC JE Admit Card 2026: Papers Covered in Paper-I
The notice says Paper-I will be held for six specific papers between 2 and 6 November 2026:
- General Engineering: Civil and Structural
- General Engineering: Electrical
- General Engineering: Mechanical
- IMD Scientific Assistant: Computer Science and Information Technology
- IMD Scientific Assistant: Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- IMD Scientific Assistant: Physics
The exam for the post of JE (Telecommunication) is separate. It will be scheduled on 30 November and 1 December 2026. The Commission says city details for that exam will be made live 8 to 10 days in advance.
SSC JE 2026 Scientific Assistant Subject Change
Some candidates who chose JE (Telecommunication) were also eligible for JE (Electrical) and Scientific Assistant (SA). For those who selected Scientific Assistant, the Commission will treat EC/TC (Electronics and Telecommunication) as the default SA subject.
Candidates who want CS/IT or Physics instead can change the subject at the time of City Live, up to 27 October 2026 (11:00 PM). No change is allowed after that. The subject shown on your Admission Certificate is the one you must appear in.
SSC JE 2026 Own Scribe Facility: What Changed
Candidates who plan to use their own scribe should read these points carefully.
- Scribe registrations made before 5 November 2025 were disposed of, so a fresh scribe registration may be needed on the Commission’s website.
- Scribe registration is now linked with Aadhaar authentication. Anyone who wants to enrol or appear as a scribe must complete fresh registration.
- Candidates using their own scribe must submit the scribe’s registration number to get the Scribe Entry Pass.
- Candidates can map their Scribe OTR until 27 October 2026 (11:00 PM). The Scribe Entry Pass is generated only for candidates who map successfully.
- The notice says the maximum permitted age of an own scribe follows the Commission’s updated policy. It does not state the figure, so confirm it on ssc.gov.in.
- All other scribe guidelines remain as in the examination notice.

Paper-I Pattern at a Glance
Paper-I is a qualifying computer-based test of 2 hours. It has General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 marks), General Awareness (50 marks) and the opted subject (100 marks). Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for all other categories. Paper-II is a subject paper of 100 questions for 300 marks, with 1 mark deducted per wrong answer.
