How to Check Your ITI or Polytechnic Merit List Rank
- Go to the Common Admission Portal login page.
- Click on Applicant Login.
- Enter the mobile number registered during application.
- Enter the 6-digit OTP sent to that mobile number.
- Log in to the dashboard.
- The General Rank and Caste Rank appear in the first grid on the dashboard.
- Scroll down to My Applications, under Application Status, to track each application separately.
This is added context, not part of the official notice: candidates may want to save a screenshot of the rank card for their own record, since online dashboards can change without a separate notice. Confirm with the official website.
What Your Application Dashboard Shows
Below My Applications, clicking View Details opens a step-by-step tracker for each application. The tracker lists five stages: Application Form, Document Upload, Fee Payment, Application Verification, and Seat Allotment. Each completed stage shows a status — such as Submitted, Completed, Paid, or Approved — and the date it was completed. Seat Allotment shows as Pending until choice filling opens.
This is added context, not part of the official notice: the tracker layout described here is based on how the portal dashboard is currently structured. Confirm the exact fields on your own login, since these can be updated by the Council.

How to Fill Choices for ITI and Polytechnic Admission 2026
Candidates who appear in the ITI E Group, ITI M Group, or Polytechnic First Year merit list can now start choice filling on the Common Admission Portal. This step comes before seat allotment — candidates pick the institutes and trades they want, in order of preference, and save the list before the window closes.
Steps to fill your institute and trade preferences
- Log in to the Common Admission Portal dashboard with the registered mobile number and OTP.
- Go to the Choice Filling section.
- Under Manage Choices, select the eligible stream (ITI E Group, ITI M Group, or Polytechnic, whichever applies).
- Click the red Start Choice Filling for ITI button (or the equivalent button shown for the applicant’s stream).
- In the choice-filling screen, select the Institute Type.
- Select the Institute District.
- Select the Institute Name.
- Select the Trade / Branch.
- Click Search.
- From the results under Available Institutes & Trades, click Select on each institute-trade combination to add it.
- Selected entries move to the Preference List on the right side of the screen.
- Repeat the search-and-select process to add more institute-trade combinations.
- Once the list is in order, click Save as Draft to save progress.
Documents or details to keep ready: the registered mobile number used for the merit list login, and a clear idea of which institute districts and trades to search for, since the portal only shows results after Institute Type, District, Name and Trade/Branch are selected and searched.
Why the order of the preference list matters
This is added context, not part of the official notice: institutes and trades are normally allotted in the order a candidate ranks them on the preference list, so the most-wanted options are usually placed at the top. Confirm the exact seat allotment logic on the official portal or notice.
What “Save as Draft” means
This is added context, not part of the official notice: saving as draft keeps the preference list editable, so candidates can log back in and add, remove, or reorder institutes and trades before the choice-filling window closes. Confirm with the official portal whether a separate final-submit step is required in addition to saving as draft, since this has not been confirmed against the official notice.
Candidates should keep checking the Common Admission Portal for the choice-filling closing date and the seat allotment date, as these are not mentioned in the official notice at this time.
Important Note : Candidates can select more than one Institute during choice filling
If Your Rank Card Shows an Error
If the General Rank, Caste Rank, or any personal detail on the dashboard looks incorrect, candidates should contact the official helpdesk rather than proceed to choice filling. The Council has listed separate helpdesk numbers for ITI and Polytechnic applicants:
- ITI helpdesk: +91 98000 40752 · wbscvthelpdesk@gmail.com
- Polytechnic helpdesk: +91 91473 39495 · helpdesk.polytechnic@gmail.com
The official notice does not mention a separate correction window for the merit list itself, so candidates with a discrepancy should raise it with the helpdesk as soon as it is noticed.
