About Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling
The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is one of India’s most prestigious government mountaineering institutions. It was founded on 4th November 1954, following the historic ascent of Mount Everest by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953.
