Eligibility

Only citizens of India can apply, and the company counts age and qualification as on the cut-off date of 1 November 2026.

Qualification

  • Trades 1 to 3 (Mate Mines, Shotfirer/Blaster, Driver-cum-Mechanic): Passed 10th / Matric exam under the 10+2 system or its equivalent. No ITI is needed.
  • Trades 4 to 19: Passed 10th / Matric exam or its equivalent, and ITI passed in the concerned trade from a recognised institute.

Candidates for the Hindustan Copper apprentice seats must qualify for the trade they pick.

Age limit

The Hindustan Copper apprentice age limit is 18 to 25 years as on 1 November 2026. The upper limit has a relaxation of 5 years for SC and ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. The company will follow all government guidelines on the matter. Candidates can check their age on the cut-off date with the age calculator tool.

Affidavit for earlier ITI pass-outs

Candidates who passed ITI in 2025 or earlier must produce an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper, sworn before a Magistrate or Notary Public. It must state that the candidate has neither done apprenticeship training elsewhere nor taken any employment.

Who cannot apply

  • Candidates with a Diploma, B.E. or equivalent qualification. The company will not consider them.
  • Candidates already in an apprenticeship training contract with another organisation, unless that organisation and RDSDE have accepted the resignation.
  • Candidates who completed an apprenticeship training contract under NAPS. They cannot take another contract in any other trade.
  • Candidates who send more than one application. The company considers only the first submitted application.

Candidates with higher academic qualifications such as B.A., B.Sc. or B.Com get no extra weightage in the Hindustan Copper apprentice merit list.

Selection process

Selection for the Hindustan Copper apprentice seats is on merit. The company ranks candidates on marks in 10th and ITI.

  • Trades with ITI: 30% weightage to marks in the relevant ITI trade and 70% weightage to marks in the 10th board exam.
  • Trades with no ITI requirement, such as Mate (Mines) and Blaster (Mines): 100% weightage to 10th board marks.
  • A CGPA in 10th or Matric converts to a percentage by multiplying the CGPA by 9.5.
  • If two or more candidates score equal marks, the older candidate ranks higher.
  • HCL publishes the list of short-listed candidates on 8 December 2026.
  • Selected candidates must be declared medically fit as per HCL requirements.

Candidature stays provisional until the company verifies certificates and testimonials. HCL cancels the candidature at any stage if a candidate gives false information, a fake certificate or hides a material fact. The management’s decision is final on eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications and the mode of selection.

How to apply

Candidates must complete both steps for the Hindustan Copper apprentice application. Registration on the national portal comes first, and the application on the HCL website follows. The application is not final without the portal number.

Step 1: Register on the apprenticeship portal

  1. Register as an apprentice on the Government of India portal, apprenticeship.gov.in. Registration is mandatory for freshers (10th basis) and ITI-based candidates.
  2. Select “Establishment Search” under the establishment menu.
  3. Choose Hindustan Copper Limited, Malanjkhand Copper Project, for training with HCL.
  4. Note the unique number the portal generates. The registration number is in the format Axxxxxxxxx.
  5. Match the profile with the 10th and ITI mark sheets. Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth and Aadhaar details must agree. A mismatch can lead to disqualification.
  6. Complete 100% Aadhaar verification, and update the bank account and eKYC in the profile.
  7. Enter the qualification correctly. ITI candidates fill the ITI cadre as ITI with ITI mark sheet details. Fresher candidates fill 10th Pass with 10th mark sheet details as the highest qualification.
  8. Apply for the Malanjkhand Copper Project, HCL, for the trade against the opportunity HCL created. Print the application copy details.

Without the printed application copy and the application form, the candidature is forfeited.

Step 2: Apply on the HCL website

Candidates apply for the Hindustan Copper apprentice seats only through hindustancopper.com. HCL accepts no other mode of application.

  1. Open hindustancopper.com and click the “Career” button for instructions on how to fill out the online form.
  2. Enter the unique number from Step 1 in the matching column. Without it, the application is not considered finally submitted.
  3. Apply for one trade only. HCL follows the “One Applicant – One Application” system, with one application for each login ID.
  4. Upload the photograph and signature. Use the photo and signature resizer to meet the size limit.
  5. Submit the form well before the closing date.
  6. Print the computer-generated application and the acknowledgement slip. Submit the candidate’s profile copy and the signed copy of the application form.

Documents to keep ready

  • Passport-size colour photograph in .jpg format, under 50 KB
  • Signature in English in black ink, in .jpg format, under 50 KB
  • Affidavit in PDF format, under 1 MB, for candidates who passed ITI in 2025 or earlier (the PDF compressor tool can reduce the file size)
  • 10th mark sheet and ITI mark sheet for trades 4 to 19
  • Apprenticeship portal registration number
  • Aadhaar-verified portal profile with bank account and eKYC updated

Candidates should keep the e-mail ID and mobile number active until the Hindustan Copper apprentice engagement process ends. HCL asks candidates to check the portal and e-mail regularly.

After the training period

The Hindustan Copper apprentice notice calls the training an opportunity to improve employability. It states there is no scope for employment at Malanjkhand Copper Project after the training. An apprentice cannot claim a right to employment on the ground of completing the apprenticeship.

Should you apply?

This drive suits fresh ITI holders and 10th pass candidates who want formal training in a mining and engineering workplace. Candidates with a Diploma or B.E. should skip it, because the company will not consider them. Candidates who need a regular salaried job should also skip it. A stipend is not a salary, and no job follows the training. Candidates can compare other apprentice vacancies before they decide.

The seats per trade are small in most trades, so marks in 10th and ITI decide the result. The posting is in Balaghat district, Madhya Pradesh. Candidates from North Bengal, Sikkim and the North East should plan the move before applying. Those who prefer a posting closer to home can follow the latest All India job updates. The Hindustan Copper apprentice certificate records formal trade training, which can support later applications.
