SBI Security Officer Recruitment 2026 Important Dates

SBI has given these dates in the notice. Dates after the last date are tentative.

Age, qualification and experience are counted as on 31 October 2026. Medical fitness is counted as of the date the advertisement is released.

Vacancy Details and Salary

For SBI Security Officer recruitment, the bank gives one combined count of 60 vacancies for the two posts. The notice does not split them post-wise. The counts are provisional and may change with the bank’s needs.

Category-wise vacancy

Both posts carry a probation period of 6 months. Officers also get DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS, Leave Fare Concession and medical facilities as per bank rules. Career path and transfers follow the rules for SBI’s existing cadre of security officers.

Eligibility for Manager and Deputy Manager (Security)

Medical fitness: only applicants with SHAPE-1 or an equivalent medical category can apply. This is counted on the date the advertisement is released. Candidates must enter the category shown in their Discharge Book or Service Record. Serving officers must upload their latest Medical Board document.

Candidates who miss any one of the rules below cannot go ahead with SBI Security Officer recruitment.

Education (both posts): Graduate in any discipline from a Government recognised University or Institution, as on 31 October 2026.

Manager (Security), MMGS-III

Candidates need either of these:

• Armed forces: rank not below Major in the Army, or equal rank in the Navy or Air Force. Minimum 10 years of commissioned service.
• Paramilitary forces: rank not below Deputy Commandant. Minimum 10 years of service as an officer in that force.

Deputy Manager (Security), MMGS-II

Candidates need either of these:

• Armed forces: rank not below Captain in the Army, or equal rank in the Navy or Air Force. Minimum 5 years of commissioned service.
• Paramilitary forces: rank not below Assistant Commandant. Minimum 5 years of service as an officer in that force.

The experience certificate must clearly show experience in the related field. Without it, SBI can cancel the candidature at any stage.

Age limit

Candidates must be at least 25 years and not more than 40 years old on 31 October 2026. The upper limit is for UR candidates. Reserved categories get relaxation as per Government of India rules. Cumulative relaxation is not allowed. Candidates should bring relaxation certificates to the interview. The online age calculator helps check age on the cut-off date.

Category certificates

• OBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued between 1 April 2026 and the interview date. Creamy layer OBC candidates must apply as UR.
• EWS candidates need an Income & Asset Certificate for Financial Year 2025-26, valid for 2026-27. Those without it must apply as UR.
• SBI does not allow any change of category after registration.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection for the SBI Security Officer recruitment has an online written test and an interview. The bank calls candidates for interview category-wise, based on test performance and the number of vacancies.

*Qualifying papers only. Their marks do not count for merit, but candidates must score the minimum the bank sets.

There is no penalty for wrong answers. The interview carries 100 marks, and SBI sets its qualifying marks. For the merit list, Professional Knowledge marks are scaled to 70 and interview marks to 30. Where candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher. SBI may switch to shortlisting and interview only.

SBI pays outstation interview candidates economy airfare by the shortest route, up to ₹10,000 to-and-fro, or the actual cost if lower. Local taxi or car costs are not paid. The bank may also scan the left-eye iris and thumb impression. Candidates should remove contact lenses and spectacles for the iris scan and keep mehandi, ink and chemicals off their hands.

The online exam for SBI Security Officer recruitment runs at centres across India. SBI may cancel or add centres and may allot a centre other than the one chosen. Requests to change the centre, date or session are not accepted.

The SBI Security Officer recruitment fee and intimation charges are non-refundable.

Candidates pay online by debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI. Any transaction charges fall on the candidate.

Candidates apply for SBI Security Officer recruitment only online, through the careers page of sbi.bank.in. A valid email ID is needed, and it should stay active until the result.

1. Open the current openings page in the careers section of sbi.bank.in.
2. Scroll down and click Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/28.
3. Download the advertisement and read it fully.
4. Click Apply Online and register with a valid email ID.
5. Upload the photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression and hand-written declaration.
6. Capture a live photo by webcam, or scan the QR code with a mobile phone.
7. Fill in the form. Saving it gives a provisional registration number and password for later edits.
8. Upload the documents in PDF and check each one with Preview.
9. Submit the form and pay the fee. No edits are allowed after payment.
10. Print the e-receipt and the application form.

Registration is complete only after the fee is paid on or before 25 November 2026. If a candidate applies more than once, SBI keeps only the last completed application. Fees paid for other attempts are forfeited.

Upload sizes

The signature must be in black ink on white paper, and not in capital letters. The left-hand thumb impression goes in JPG format. Candidates without a left thumb may use the right thumb. The photo and signature resizer can bring images to the right size.

The hand-written declaration must be in English, in black ink on white paper, at 200 DPI. Capital letters are not accepted. The text reads: “I________(Name of the candidate), _______(Date of Birth) hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left-hand thumb impression is of mine”.

Can serving defence officers apply for SBI Security Officer recruitment 2026?

Yes. The notice allows applicants who are still in service. They must upload their latest Medical Board document showing their medical category. Candidates in government service must also bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview. Selected candidates must produce a proper discharge book when they join.

Can I choose my posting state after joining SBI as a security officer?
