About Reserve Bank of India

• Consultant Site Engineer (Civil), Level 2 and Level 3: A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent in the Civil stream is essential. A Master of Technology (M.Tech) or equivalent in a relevant Civil discipline is desirable.
• Consultant Site Engineer (Electrical), Level 3: A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent in the Electrical stream is essential. A Master of Technology (M.Tech) or equivalent in Electrical discipline is desirable.

Work Experience

• Civil, Level 2 (Raipur): Minimum 15 years of experience in construction and project management of buildings, with at least 5 years in CPWD, CPSUs or a similar government organisation, in a position not below the rank of Assistant Executive Engineer.
• Civil, Level 3 (Chandigarh / Jammu / Lucknow / Mumbai): Minimum 15 years of experience in construction and project management of buildings, with at least 5 years in CPWD, CPSUs or a similar government organisation, in a position not below the rank of Executive Engineer.
• Electrical, Level 3 (Mumbai): Minimum 15 years of experience in construction and project management of buildings, with at least 5 years in CPWD, CPSUs or a similar government organisation, in a position not below the rank of Executive Engineer, with experience in electrical works.

CPWD stands for the Central Public Works Department, the central government’s own construction agency, and CPSUs are Central Public Sector Undertakings. The notification clarifies that experience in “similar government organisations” also covers State PWDs, State PSUs and State government departments, so candidates from state-level public works experience are not ruled out.

Age Limit

As on June 01, 2026, the minimum age for all three posts is 40 years and the maximum age is 65 years. The notification states that no age relaxation is available for any category.

Selection Process

The selection process for RBI Site Engineer posts has three stages. The Board can limit the number of candidates called for interview based on the number of vacancies.

1. Preliminary screening and shortlisting by a Screening Committee

3. Interview

1. Visit www.rbi.org.in and go to Opportunities@RBI > Current Vacancies > Vacancies > “Lateral Recruitment of Site Engineers on Full-Time Contract Basis in Reserve Bank of India (RBI),” then click the “Online Application Form” link.
2. Click “Click here for New Registration” and enter name, contact details and email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and password.
3. Fill in the application form, using “SAVE AND NEXT” to save progress at each stage.
4. Upload the photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
5. Fill in the remaining details, then click “Validate your details” and “Save & Next.”
6. Preview the application form carefully before final submission.
7. Click “Complete Registration” only after confirming the photograph, signature and other details are correct, since no change is allowed afterward.
8. Upload the left thumb impression, handwritten declaration and other required documents.
9. Click on the “Payment” tab and pay the application fee or intimation charges online.
10. Click “Submit” to complete the application.

• Photograph in passport size (4.5cm × 3.5cm), scanned between 20kb and 50kb
• Signature signed in black ink, scanned between 10kb and 20kb
• Left thumb impression on white paper with black or blue ink

• Category certificate, where applicable (SC / ST / OBC / PwBD / EWS)
• Educational qualification documents (B.Tech / M.Tech mark sheets and certificates)

Candidates without a flatbed scanner can use a mobile camera against a white sheet in good light for the left thumb impression and handwritten declaration, since any unclear or smudged image can lead to rejection.
