POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility and Stipend

The eligibility for POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is uniform across all 10 regions and is assessed as of the closing date, 10 September 2026.

An additional ₹2,500 per month is paid if company accommodation is not provided or availed. The DBT portion comes from the Government of India under the NATS scheme and requires an active, Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account.

Candidates must also meet these conditions:

• Passed the final examination for the qualifying degree/diploma/ITI within two years of the closing date — i.e., between 11 September 2024 and 10 September 2026
• Qualification must be from a full-time regular course; part-time, correspondence, distance or online-mode qualifications are not accepted
• Medically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961
• 18 years of age or above at the time of application; no maximum age limit is mentioned in any of the 10 regional notifications

• Have more than 1 year of job experience

The selection process for POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is entirely merit-based. There is no written examination and no interview.

1. Applications are screened in merit order, based on the qualifying percentage and the eligibility criteria for the trade applied for
2. Incomplete or ineligible applications are rejected without any intimation
3. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD is applied as per the Apprentices Act, 1961
4. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification in a 1:5 ratio against the notified slots, in merit order; no TA/DA is paid for attending
5. A final merit list is prepared from candidates found suitable after document verification
6. Selected candidates must accept a tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal, and submit a medical certificate and police verification before engagement
