Selection Process

Selection follows a Screening Committee shortlist, followed by a Computer Based Test (CBT) and Personal Interaction, or Personal Interaction only, depending on the post. This is decided and communicated to eligible candidates through the Admit Card/Call Letter.

  1. Applications are screened for eligibility by a Screening Committee.
  2. Where CBT applies: 100 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes — 50 on Technical/Professional knowledge, 50 on Aptitude.
  3. Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interaction in a 1:3 ratio (candidates to vacancies) per grade, based on CBT merit.
  4. Final merit list combines CBT and Personal Interaction marks in an 80:20 weightage. There is no separate qualifying mark for the interaction itself in this route.
  5. Where only Personal Interaction is used, the minimum qualifying mark is 50%.
  6. The committee may offer a lower grade than applied for, and may prepare a reserve panel for non-joining or early exit cases.

One practical note from the notification: candidates called for CBT or medical examination are not paid travelling expenses, but those shortlisted for in-person Personal Interaction are reimbursed 2 AC train fare for the shortest route.

Application Fee

A processing fee of Rs. 500/- applies to all Young Professional categories (YP-1, YP-2, YP-3), payable online via Net Banking, Credit Card, or ATM-cum-Debit Card. Bank charges, if any, are extra. The fee is non-refundable once paid.
