About NHSRCL
NHSRCL is a joint sector company of the Government of India and participating state governments. It was set up to build India’s first high-speed rail corridor, running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. For a candidate already working in railway or metro operations, this recruitment offers a move into high-speed rail technology, which is a newer and smaller field within Indian infrastructure compared to conventional railways.

How This Vacancy Compares
Added context based on typical recruitment patterns in the sector, not part of the official notification. Confirm current openings with the respective organisations.
This is an all-India posting, not tied to one state or region. Unlike open Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Technician exams, which any eligible candidate can apply for, this NHSRCL notice is restricted to people already employed in Railway, Metro, or RRTS operations and maintenance roles. That narrows the applicant pool considerably compared to a general RRB or Metro recruitment drive, which usually draws lakhs of applicants. Candidates who meet the experience condition may find the competition here less intense than in open-category exams, though the exact number of applicants will depend on how many eligible serving employees choose to apply.
Important Dates
Experience and other eligibility criteria are counted as on 30 June 2026, so candidates should calculate their experience up to that date, not the closing date.
| Event | Date |

| Notice released / Applications open | 7 July 2026 |

Should You Apply?
This vacancy suits serving Railway, Metro, or RRTS employees in Operations & Maintenance roles who already have the required ITI, apprenticeship, or diploma qualification and at least 2 years of relevant experience. It does not suit fresh graduates, private-sector candidates, or Railway staff outside O&M departments, since the notice restricts eligibility to this specific group. Because of this restriction, competition may be lower than in open recruitment exams, though it will still depend on how many eligible employees from across the country apply for the same posts.
One trade-off worth thinking about: selected candidates must sign a surety bond of ₹3,00,000 to serve NHSRCL for at least 4 years, and a separate training bond of up to 6 years if they receive training, along with a notice period before resigning. Candidates should weigh this long service commitment against the exposure to high-speed rail technology that the role offers.
FAQs
Can a candidate from outside Railways, Metro, or RRTS apply for this post?
No. The notice is open only to regular or contractual employees currently working in Operations & Maintenance departments of Indian Railways, government railways, Metro Railways, or RRTS systems.
Can a candidate apply for more than one Technician post in this notice?
No. Candidates can apply against only one vacancy number from 35/2026 to 49/2026, since the Computer Based Test for all these posts may be held on the same day and time.
Where will selected Technicians be posted?
Anywhere in the NHSRCL/MAHSR Project, which covers the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor.
How does this NHSRCL vacancy compare to open Railway Technician exams?
This is added context, not part of the official notification. Open RRB Technician exams accept applications from the general public and typically draw far larger applicant numbers. This NHSRCL notice is limited to already-serving Railway, Metro, and RRTS staff, which narrows the competition but also narrows who can apply.
