IIFCL Projects Limited (IPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) — a 100% Government of India enterprise — has invited applications for engagement of Individual Consultants (IC) on a full-time contractual basis. The notice, published on 17 July 2026, covers 65 separate specialisations, called IC Codes, spread across grades from Young Professional to Senior Consultant. This is for candidates with infrastructure, finance, legal, technical or communications experience who want a well-paid contractual consulting role linked to a Government of India enterprise.
Information verified from the official IIFCL Projects Limited (IPL) advertisement for engagement of Individual Consultants (IC) on a contractual basis, published on 17 July 2026. Last verified: 19 August 2026.
This is not a fixed-vacancy recruitment with a single deadline. IPL is building a database of applicants and will engage consultants “as and when requirements arise” in each specialisation — the notice does not state a total number of posts, and IPL may appoint none, one or more consultants under any IC Code. Applicants are placed mainly at IPL’s Delhi head office, with several specialisations open in Chennai, Ahmedabad, Amaravati (AP), the Northeast Region, or anywhere in India. Candidates should check all details in the article below.
IIFCL Projects Limited is recruiting Individual Consultants (IC) across 65 specialisations, on a rolling, need-based basis — the notice does not fix a total vacancy count. Applications can be sent by email or post at any time within one year of the notice’s publication on 17 July 2026. Selection is through interview only, with remuneration ranging from ₹70,000 to ₹3,30,000 a month depending on grade.

About IIFCL Projects Limited
IIFCL Projects Limited was set up in February 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of IIFCL, a 100% Government of India enterprise. It provides financial and infrastructure advisory services to central and state governments, local bodies and private developers, and also works on capacity building and policy advocacy. IPL’s advisory work spans roads, highways, ports, airports, power including renewables, tourism, and urban infrastructure such as water supply, sewerage and solid waste management. It is currently engaged with several state governments on infrastructure advisory mandates, which is where most of these consultant positions are attached.

Northeast Region and Sikkim: what this notice means for local candidates
Twenty-five of the 65 IC Code specialisations in this notice list the Northeast Region as an available posting location — usually alongside Delhi or Chennai — covering areas such as finance, legal, environment, GIS, capacity building, transport planning and disaster risk management. Browse more current openings on North East Jobs. Five further specialisations, IC Codes 49 to 53, are open to candidates from anywhere in India, including the Northeast and Sikkim.
The notice also names Sikkim directly: postal applications are accepted through the one-year window from candidates based in Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, along with candidates living abroad. Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview in Delhi or online, at IPL’s discretion, so a candidate based in the Northeast Region may not need to travel to Delhi for the working assignment itself, only possibly for the interview stage.
Important dates
This notice does not run on a single application open/close cycle like an exam-based recruitment. Instead:
| Event | Detail |
|---|---|
| Advertisement published | 17 July 2026 |
| Application mode | Rolling — accepted through the year, for the specific specialisations listed |
| Application window | One year from the date of publishing — i.e., applications are considered up to on or around 16–17 July 2027, unless IPL withdraws or re-advertises the notice earlier |
| Selection stage | Interview only, scheduled for shortlisted candidates as vacancies arise |
This is added context, not part of the official notification. Confirm with the hiring office: since engagement is rolling and vacancy-driven, applying early in the window may improve the chance of being considered before a particular specialisation’s database fills up.

Total posts: not mentioned in the official notification — IPL states it “reserves the right to appoint none, one or more IC in any of the aforesaid IC Code,” so no fixed vacancy total exists to sum against.
Note on IC Code 46: the notice heading reads “at Delhi/Northeast Region,” matching the location shown above.

Remuneration by grade
Pay is fixed by Grade Code, not by individual IC Code, based on post-qualification relevant experience:
| Grade Code | Grade | Post-Qualification Experience | Age | Remuneration (₹/month) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YP | Young Professional | 1 year | 32 | 70,000 |
| I | Consultant (Grade I) | 3–8 years | 45 | 80,000 – 1,45,000 |
| II | Consultant (Grade II) | 8–15 years | 50 | 1,45,000 – 2,65,000 |
| III | Senior Consultant | 15 years and above | 62 | 2,65,000 – 3,30,000 |
The notice states that final remuneration is decided based on the candidate’s expectations, experience and expertise, and that IPL’s decision is final and binding. Consultants are also allowed TA/DA and hotel accommodation for official tours, paid or reimbursed as per company policy.
Candidates unsure which age band they fall into can check using the Age Calculator.
Eligibility
Eligibility is fixed per IC Code, not by a single common standard — refer to the qualification and experience columns in the table above for the specific specialisation you are applying to. A few points apply across all 65 IC Codes:
- Applicants must be Indian citizens.
- All qualifications must be recognised by UGC, AICTE or AIU. A foreign qualification is accepted only with an equivalency certificate from the Competent Authority.
- Some specialisations — such as IC Codes 19, 24, 25, 58, 59 and 60 — also accept a Diploma in Engineering with additional relevant experience, so diploma holders in these fields can check the site’s Diploma jobs section too.
- Applying for a higher grade in an IC Code does not automatically make a candidate eligible for a lower grade in the same code. A separate application is needed for each IC Code and Grade Code a candidate wants to be considered for.
Selection process
Selection is by interview only — there is no written examination for this recruitment. IPL first screens and shortlists applications based on qualifications, experience, suitability, city preference and its own business requirements; meeting the minimum eligibility does not by itself guarantee an interview call.
- Applications are screened and shortlisted against the specific IC Code and Grade Code applied for.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview in Delhi or online, as decided by IPL.
- IPL does not reimburse any expenditure incurred by a candidate in attending the interview.
- IPL reserves the right to appoint none, one, or more consultants under any IC Code.
Engagement is for a fixed two years, extendable by one year at a time up to a maximum of five years (2+1+1+1), subject to a satisfactory Annual Performance Review against defined Key Performance Indicators each year. The role is full-time and contractual — a selected consultant is not permitted to take up any other appointment, engagement or assignment during this period. IPL has also stated that candidates found to have engaged in canvassing may be disqualified, and that any candidature found based on false or suppressed information — even after appointment — is liable to be cancelled or terminated.

Should you apply?
This suits infrastructure professionals — engineers, planners, finance and legal experts, environment and PPP specialists — who want a well-paid contractual consulting assignment linked to a Government of India enterprise, and who are comfortable with a rolling, interview-only selection process rather than a fixed exam cycle. The Young Professional track (IC Codes 49 to 53) needs only one year of post-qualification experience, so it is worth a look for early-career candidates in finance, legal, PPP or asset monetisation roles who might otherwise assume this notice is only for senior applicants.
It does not suit candidates looking for a permanent, pensionable government job. This is a fixed-term contractual engagement, capped at five years even with satisfactory annual reviews, and the consultant cannot hold any other job or assignment during the contract. There is also no guaranteed continuation year to year — it depends on the Annual Performance Review. Remuneration within each grade’s range is negotiated individually rather than fixed, and the notice gives no exam date or single results day, since engagement happens only when a specific need arises. This is added context, not part of the official notification. Confirm with the hiring office: individual consultant roles at infrastructure advisory firms like IPL are generally understood to build specialised, sector-specific expertise — for example in PPP structuring, project finance or public procurement — that professionals sometimes use later to move into infrastructure lending institutions, government advisory bodies, or private infrastructure companies.
Frequently asked questions
What is the last date to apply for IIFCL Projects Limited Individual Consultant recruitment 2026?
There is no single last date. What is the salary of an Individual Consultant at IIFCL Projects Limited?
Salary depends on grade: ₹70,000/month for Young Professionals, ₹80,000–₹1,45,000 for Grade I, ₹1,45,000–₹2,65,000 for Grade II, and ₹2,65,000–₹3,30,000 for Senior Consultants (Grade III). The final figure is decided by IPL based on the candidate’s experience and expectations.
How do I apply for an IIFCL Projects Limited Consultant vacancy?
Send the completed application, signed advertisement copy, and supporting certificates by email (to the address matching your IC Code) or by post to IPL’s Delhi office. There is no online application portal for this recruitment.
