GDS Result 2026 Out: India Post Schedule-II List-I PDF

GDS Result 2026 is out: the Department of Posts has published List-I of shortlisted candidates for GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 on the official portal. The lists are available circle-wise as PDFs, and the portal ticker reads “GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 : List-I of Shortlisted Candidates Published”.

This GDS Result 2026 is a merit-based shortlist for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts. There is no written exam or interview, so being in the list means your Class 10 marks placed you within the cut for a post office in your chosen division. Shortlisting is not final selection: you still have to clear document verification.

Last verified against the official portal on 12 October 2026. We do not reproduce candidate names or registration numbers; open the official PDF for your circle to check your own entry.

In short: List-I is out for all 23 circles. Search your registration number in your circle’s PDF, note the division and post office allotted, and report for document verification within the time given. If your name is not there, further lists may follow if posts remain vacant.

What the GDS Result 2026 Merit List Shows

Column layouts can differ slightly between circles. In general, expect these details against each registration number:

  • Division and post office allotted
  • Post applied for (BPM, ABPM or Dak Sevak)
  • Category or community of the post
  • Marks percentage taken from Class 10
  • The Divisional Head or authority before whom to report for verification

How the GDS Result 2026 Merit List Is Prepared

Selection is system generated from Class 10 marks. Where two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate by date of birth is ranked higher, followed by the category and gender order given in the notification. Candidates can apply for several post offices within a division, but only one post is finally offered. Your preference order and category matter, so a candidate with lower marks can still be shortlisted for an office where the cut is lower.

GDS Result 2026 Cut-Off Marks: What We Know

The Department has not announced a single cut-off for GDS. The merit mark for each post office depends on how many candidates applied there, their categories and the vacancies, so it differs between divisions and even between offices. The percentage shown against the last shortlisted candidate for an office in your circle PDF is the best indicator of the cut for that office. We will not quote a guessed cut-off.

GDS Result 2026: Next Steps After Being Shortlisted

  1. Read the division, office and verifying authority against your number carefully.
  2. Report for document verification within 15 days or the date given in the notice. Missing the window can lead to cancellation of candidature.
  3. After verification and acceptance, complete joining within 30 days, which includes three days of basic training.
  4. BPM candidates must arrange their own accommodation at the Branch Post Office location.

GDS Result 2026 Documents to Carry (Originals Plus Self-Attested Copies)

  • Class 10 mark sheet (name, parents’ names and date of birth must match your application)
  • Photo ID proof and date of birth proof
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format, if you claimed it. See our guide to category certificates for government jobs
  • Disability certificate (PwBD) or transgender certificate, if applicable
  • Medical certificate from a Government hospital or dispensary (compulsory)
  • Computer knowledge proof and local language proof, if the division asks for it

Always follow the exact document list given by your division, as it overrides any general list, including ours.
