Pay is calculated on a per-class basis. The university pays ₹500 for each class taught. Total pay for a month cannot go above ₹50,000.
Eligibility
The minimum qualification is a master’s degree with 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, in the concerned, relevant or allied subject. This can be from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
Candidates must also have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-UGC. Candidates can also qualify with the State Eligibility Test (SET), conducted by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC).
Candidates with a PhD degree are exempted from the NET or SET requirement. A relaxation of 5% applies to the master’s degree marks for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and PwD candidates. This relaxation applies only to the qualifying marks, with no grace marks added.
The notice lists two desirable qualifications. These are teaching or research experience, and published books, book chapters or journal articles.

Selection process
Selection has two stages. The university screens all applications first, then calls shortlisted candidates for an interview.
