How this recruitment compares

This is added context, not part of the official notification. Confirm with the hiring office.

SECI has run more than one recruitment drive for experienced professionals in 2026, which points to a steady hiring pattern rather than a one-time exercise. Unlike most vacancies covered on this site, which are filled through a written competitive exam open to fresh graduates, this is a lateral, experience-based recruitment — candidates are judged mainly on years of relevant post-qualification experience and the seniority of their current role, not on an entrance exam. This generally means fewer, more specifically qualified applicants per post compared to an SSC or state PSC-style exam, but the experience bar itself (up to 22 years for the senior-most post) is a real filter.

Should you apply for this SECI Recruitment 2026 ?

SECI Recruitment 2026 suits candidates who already have real, documented working experience in the power or renewable energy sector — or in legal, HR, finance or IT roles inside such organizations — not fresh graduates. The experience bar is genuine: even the entry-level posts ask for at least 1 year post-qualification experience, and it rises to 22 years for the General Manager post. Because selection leans on shortlisting by qualification and experience rather than a single competitive exam, candidates who clearly meet the stated criteria have a realistic shot, but SECI can also raise the eligibility bar if it receives a large number of applications for a post.

The clearest trade-off in this notification is between the two tracks: Regular positions come with a defined IDA pay scale and the fuller PSU benefits structure (pension scheme, gratuity, post-retirement medical), while Fixed Term Executive positions pay a higher headline CTC for some grades but are contractual — an initial 3 years, extendable up to 2 more, rather than an open-ended regular appointment. Posting for both tracks can be anywhere in India, so candidates should be prepared to relocate. Government or PSU employees applying should also plan for the NOC requirement if they reach the interview stage. Browse more graduate-level government openings on this site, or check the Government Jobs category for other current PSU recruitment.
