Experience and Publications

• Assistant Professor Grade-I: at least 3 years of teaching, research or industry experience in the area of the post, excluding experience gained during the PhD, plus a minimum of 6 first-author publications in Q1 journals. The Q1 first-author requirement is 4 publications for Mathematics & Statistics and for Computational and Data Sciences.
• Assistant Professor Grade-II (contract; CDS, DES, HSS): a minimum of 4 first-author publications in Q1 journals, reduced to 3 publications for Computational and Data Sciences. No separate minimum years of post-PhD experience is stated for Grade-II.

A “Q1 journal” means a journal placed in the top quartile (top 25%) of its subject category by Scopus or comparable ranking. The notification asks candidates to mark the Scopus quartile and impact factor against each listed publication.

Selection Process

Recruitment runs through department-level screening followed by institute-level review. The notification states that simply meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call, and departments may set higher norms at the shortlisting stage.
