UPSC CMS 2026 Result – PDF Interview List Out | Check at upsc.gov.in

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the written result of the Combined Medical Services Examination 2026 (UPSC CMS 2026) on 1 September 2026, through a press note carrying the roll numbers of qualified candidates. The written examination was held on 2 August 2026. The UPSC CMS 2026 Result press note does not carry a separate notice or advertisement number — it is issued simply as “Press Note, Combined Medical Services Examination 2026, dated 01.09.2026.”

Candidates whose roll numbers appear on the list have qualified for the Interview/Personality Test stage. This is not a final result — the press note itself states that candidature at this point is provisional, subject to candidates being found eligible in all respects. Candidates should check all details in the article below.

Information verified from the official UPSC Press Note on the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2026, dated 01.09.2026. Last verified: 1 September 2026.

The Commission declared the written result of the UPSC CMS 2026 exam on 1 September 2026. The result is a roll-number list, not a login-based check — candidates search the official PDF for their own roll number. A total of 2,923 candidates have qualified, provisionally, for the Interview/Personality Test. No cut-off marks have been released with this result.

How to check the UPSC CMS 2026 Result

This result is published as a single PDF list of roll numbers — there is no login required to check it.

  1. Open the official CMS 2026 written result PDF on the UPSC website.
  2. Use the search function in your PDF viewer (Ctrl+F on a computer, or the search icon in a phone’s PDF app) and type your roll number.
  3. If your roll number appears on the list, you have qualified for the Interview/Personality Test.
  4. Download and save the PDF. Result PDFs are sometimes moved to an archive section of the website after a period, so keeping a personal copy is worth doing now.

Candidates should note this PDF confirms qualification only. It does not carry marks — the mark sheet is released separately, after the final result.

Result and qualified candidates

The press note lists roll numbers only, with no name, category-wise, post-wise or region-wise breakdown. Counting the roll numbers published in the official PDF gives a total of 2,923 candidates qualified for the Interview/Personality Test.

In line with our editorial policy, this article does not reproduce any roll number, registration number or candidate name from the list — not even as a sample. Candidates must check their own roll number directly on the official PDF. This is a reproduction of a public roll-number list, not a ranked merit list of MBBS-graduate candidates competing for Group ‘A’ Medical Officer posts, and the notice gives no post-wise or discipline-wise count.

Cut-off marks

The cut-off marks have not been released with this result. Check the official website for updates.

What happens next

  • Mandatory document upload window: Every candidate who has qualified for the Personality Test must log in to upsconline.nic.in and update their details — including educational qualification status (appearing or appeared) with proof of passing — and upload supporting documents, as required under Rule 9(a)(ii) of the CMS Examination Rules, 2026. The notice sets this window at 15 days from the declaration of the written result. Since the result was declared on 1 September 2026, this window is expected to run through roughly mid-September 2026 — the notice does not give the exact closing date, so confirm it on the portal before it closes.
  • This applies even to candidates who already uploaded documents earlier. The notice is explicit: candidates who submitted documents at an earlier stage and have nothing new to add must still log in and finally submit, in order to generate the e-Summon Letter for the Personality Test.
  • Missing this window has a real consequence. The notice states plainly that a candidate who does not complete this step will not be allowed to participate in further stages, and that no correspondence will be entertained on the matter.
  • During this window, candidates can also update their correspondence/permanent address, higher educational qualification, achievements, employment or service details, marital status, PwBD recommendation details, parental details, debarment information, earlier examination details, and OBC/EWS annexures where applicable.
  • Interview schedule: The Personality Test schedule will be uploaded on the Commission’s website (upsc.gov.in) in due course. The exact date will be communicated individually through the e-Summon Letter — not through this result list. No request to change the date or time of the Personality Test will ordinarily be entertained.
  • Documents at the interview: Candidates must bring original certificates for age, educational qualification, community, and benchmark disability (where applicable). The notice places the responsibility for producing sufficient proof entirely on the candidate — a candidate who cannot produce the required originals will not be permitted to appear before the Personality Test Board, and no travel allowance will be paid in that case.
  • Mark sheet, later: After the Personality Test is held and the final result is published, the mark sheet will be uploaded to the UPSC website and will stay available there for 30 days. It is accessed by entering roll number and date of birth. Candidates who want a printed copy must request it within 30 days of the mark sheet going live, with a self-addressed stamped envelope; requests after that window will not be entertained.
  • Helpdesk: For queries on this result, candidates can call the Commission’s Call Centre on 011-40303444 or 011-24041001, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
  • Mobile phones are not permitted inside UPSC examination premises, as a standing rule of the Commission.

This is added context, not part of the official notice: keep both original documents and clear scanned copies ready well before the upload window closes, since document uploads on government portals often slow down close to the deadline. Confirm with the official website.

If your name is not in the list

The press note does not offer any re-check, representation or RTI route for this particular result — it does not mention one, so none should be assumed. This is only the qualifying list for the Interview/Personality Test stage of CMS 2026; it is separate from the CMS recruitment cycle as a whole. Candidates whose roll number is not on this list are not qualified for the interview stage of this examination cycle.
