Scientist-C (8 posts)

• Essential qualification: same base Master’s/Bachelor’s qualification as Scientist-D

Scientist-B (12 posts)

Assistant Manager (Finance) (3 posts)

• Age limit: 35 years
• Essential qualification: First class Master’s degree in Commerce (Finance & Accounting/Taxation), OR Chartered Accountant, OR MBA (Finance & Accounting)
• Experience required: 8 years post-qualification experience, including: proficiency in MS Word/Excel and advanced spreadsheet/database use; a minimum of 2 years’ tax experience; accounting entries in Tally and QuickBooks, voucher preparation, and online filing of TDS/GST/PF/ESI/STPI returns; payroll preparation and management

Administrative Assistant (1 post)

• Age limit: 35 years
• Essential qualification: First Class Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, with working knowledge of computers
• Experience required: minimum 5 years post-qualification administrative work, preferably in Government/PSU/Autonomous bodies in 4200/- grade pay or its equivalent; must pass a skill test on noting and drafting
• Desirable: First Class Post-Graduation degree

Scientific Assistant (SA) (13 posts)

• Age limit: 35 years
• Essential qualification: same base Master’s/Bachelor’s qualification as the Scientist posts
• AND a Valid GATE score with 90% and above percentile, OR NET-JRF qualified

Taxonomist (1 post)

• Age limit: 35 years
• Essential qualification: First Class M.Sc.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Botany or Zoology with minimum 75% marks or equivalent, AND Valid GATE (90%+ percentile)/NET-JRF, AND one of: impact factor not less than 7 (UGC-CARE/Scopus); OR at least 1 book/edited chapter with ISBN; OR at least 1 Technical Report published by CPCB/SPCB

Data Entry Operator (4 posts)

• Age limit: 32 years
• Essential qualification: First class Bachelor’s degree in Science/BCA
• Must pass a skill test in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with English typing speed of 45 wpm and Hindi typing speed of 35 wpm, on a computer

Field Assistant (8 posts)

• Age limit: 27 years
• Essential qualification: Passed 10+2 in Science with minimum 55% marks
• Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation required

Also note (from the notification’s FAQs): candidates who have only a mark sheet without a degree or provisional certificate, or who have appeared for their final semester exam with results awaited, are not eligible to apply. CPCB Recruitment 2026 – Selection process

CPCB screens every application against the eligibility set out above, then calls qualifying candidates for an interview in Delhi.

2. Screening/document verification against the qualifications and experience stated in the notification. A written test may be introduced at this stage if a large number of applications are received, at the Selection/Screening Committee’s discretion

CPCB will not provide TA/DA or accommodation for the interview. Outstation candidates are advised by the notification to make their own overnight stay arrangement in Delhi, since the interview may continue into a second day depending on the number of candidates.
