About Naini Aerospace Limited

Naini Aerospace Limited (NAeL) was incorporated on 29 December 2016 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Its factory in Naini, Prayagraj, produces aircraft and helicopter wire harnesses (looms), stub wings for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), helicopter structures, and drones. NAeL also holds DGCA approval for Remote Pilot Training. For a candidate, this means direct exposure to aerospace and defence-linked manufacturing work, under a company whose parent, HAL, is one of India’s largest defence public sector undertakings.

Reaching Naini, Prayagraj

NAeL’s factory sits in the UPSIDA industrial area of Naini, Prayagraj, on the Prayagraj–Mirzapur highway, about 20 km from Prayagraj city centre, as stated in the notification. Prayagraj is a major railway junction with regular trains from Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur and Delhi, and it has its own domestic airport — relevant for candidates travelling from other states, since the Written Test is held only at Prayagraj.

Added context, not part of the official notification: candidates tracking this opening may also want to watch other defence-sector PSU recruitments, including NAeL’s parent HAL, since these often follow a similar Fixed Term Employment structure with written-test-based selection. Confirm details directly with each organisation.

Selection Process

Selection is based only on marks scored in the Written Test, in order of merit — there is no interview.

  1. Online applications are screened against the eligibility criteria.
  2. Candidates must meet the qualifying percentage in their qualifying examination (60% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS, 50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  3. Shortlisted candidates appear for the Written Test at Prayagraj — 2½ hours, 160 MCQs in total: 20 questions on General Awareness, 40 on English & Reasoning, and 100 on the concerned Discipline/Trade/Stream. Each question carries 1 mark; there is no negative marking.
  4. Candidates need at least 50% marks in the Written Test to qualify (40% for SC/ST/PwBD, after a 10% relaxation).
  5. Candidates are called for Document Verification in order of merit, limited to the number of posts notified per discipline/category.
  6. Document Verification covers educational certificates, category/EWS/disability proof, and character & antecedent verification.
  7. Qualified candidates get a Provisional Offer, followed by a Pre-Employment Medical Examination — no relaxation in health standards is allowed.
  8. A Final Offer of Engagement is issued after satisfactory medical and verification reports.

One practical note from the notification: candidates who qualify Document Verification are reimbursed Travelling Allowance (Sleeper Class/II Class train fare, or bus fare by the shortest route) on producing proof of travel.

  • Candidates currently employed in Central/State Government or PSUs (including on contract) must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at Document Verification.

Should You Apply?

This vacancy suits ITI-trained candidates in the Electronics Mechanic, Fitter or Electrician trades, and graduates in Commerce, Arts, Science, BBA, BSW or BCA, who want hands-on experience in aircraft and helicopter component manufacturing. Selection through a Written Test only, with no interview, keeps the process transparent and merit-based.

It does not suit candidates who need a permanent government job right away. NAeL’s engagement is Fixed Term for four years in the Non-Executive cadre, and it ends automatically without further notice — it is not a route to guaranteed regular employment.

Pay is modest for a defence-linked PSU: around Rs 4.56 lakh CTC for Operator SS and Rs 4.96 lakh CTC for Junior Assistant, though this includes EPF, gratuity, HRA and medical allowance. With only 28 posts and a single exam centre at Prayagraj, competition is likely to be high, especially for Junior Assistant posts, where just 2–3 seats are open per stream. Candidates from ITI backgrounds have more openings overall — 19 of the 28 posts — and may find comparatively better odds.

FAQs

What is the last date to apply for NAeL Recruitment 2026?

Online applications for Advertisement No. NAeL/Rectt./26/02 open on 27 June 2026 (9:00 AM) and close on 17 July 2026 (23:59). Admit cards are available for download from 31 July 2026, and the Written Test is scheduled for 23 August 2026 at Prayagraj.

How many total vacancies are there in this recruitment?

The notification lists 28 posts — 19 Operator SS posts (Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician) and 9 Junior Assistant posts (IMM, HR, Finance, IT). NAeL states these numbers, and the category-wise split, are tentative and may change on review.

Is age relaxation available for reserved categories or experienced candidates?

Yes. SC/ST candidates get 5 years’ relaxation, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years, and PwBD an additional 10 years over category relaxation. Candidates with relevant post-qualification experience can get up to 7 years’ relaxation, to a maximum age of 35. The overall upper limit with all relaxations is 55 years (56 for PwBD).

Does this job lead to a permanent NAeL or HAL position?

This is added context, not stated in the notification: NAeL’s engagement is Fixed Term (4 years) in the Non-Executive cadre and does not carry a right to become permanent, though it includes PF and gratuity. Candidates should treat it as valuable trade or administrative experience rather than a lifetime government job. Confirm current policy with NAeL.
