About PDIL
Projects & Development India Limited is a Government of India undertaking and a Mini Ratna Category-I PSU. It is a design engineering and consultancy company with over six decades of work in design, detailed engineering, procurement, project management, construction supervision and commissioning. Its projects cover fertiliser and allied chemicals, refinery, oil and gas, power, petrochemical, housing and infrastructure. Its registered office is at PDIL Bhawan, A-14, Sector-1, Noida. For an engineer, PDIL offers direct exposure to large industrial projects across these sectors.

How this vacancy compares
These are experienced-hire posts, not fresher jobs. Every post asks for two to eleven years of post-qualification experience, and applicants must also have earned at least 70% of the listed monthly remuneration for two years in the past. That narrows the field to working engineers rather than new graduates.
The interview venue is PDIL Bhawan, A-14, Sector-1, Noida (Gautam Budh Nagar). Noida is well connected to Delhi by road and by the Delhi Metro Aqua Line, and shortlisted candidates who appear are reimbursed rail travel as per the notification.
Added context, not part of the official notification: compared with permanent posts in central engineering PSUs such as Engineers India, MECON or NPCC, PDIL is hiring here on a fixed contract with a consolidated monthly amount rather than a regular pay scale. Candidates weighing offers should treat this as a contract role. Confirm any comparison with the hiring office.
One point worth noting from the notification: candidates posted at North East sites who are non-domiciles of the eight North Eastern states get an extra North East allowance of ₹5,000 per month (degree engineers) or ₹3,000 per month (diploma engineers).

Should you apply?
This vacancy suits working engineers in design and construction disciplines — fertiliser, oil and gas, refinery, power and related fields — who have the required years of experience and are open to being posted anywhere in India. It also suits engineers who want PSU project exposure on their record.
It does not suit freshers, since every post needs post-qualification experience, and it does not suit anyone looking for a permanent government job. This is a contract role of up to three years, renewed one year at a time based on performance.
Added context, not from the notification: with 153 posts across many niche disciplines, the experience bar and the past-salary condition filter the applicant pool, so competition per post is likely moderate rather than mass-scale. Treat this as a rough read, not a promise.
The honest trade-off is stability. The pay is a fair consolidated amount with a yearly increment, but it is a fixed-term contract, not a permanent PSU seat with a full pay scale and perks. Candidates should weigh the project exposure against that.
FAQs
Is this a permanent job at PDIL?
No. These are contract posts. The contract is initially up to one year and may be renewed one year at a time, up to a maximum of three years from the date of joining, based on performance.
Can freshers apply for PDIL Recruitment 2026?
No. Every post needs post-qualification experience — from two years for Scale 1 posts up to eleven years for Graduate Engineer Scale 4. Candidates must also have earned at least 70% of the listed remuneration for two years.
Where will selected candidates be posted?
At any PDIL office or project site across India, as per project need. Candidates posted at North East sites who are non-domiciles of the eight North Eastern states get an extra monthly North East allowance.
