PwBD Categories and Centre-wise Availability

Only candidates with not less than 40% of the relevant disability are eligible for reservation. The five disability categories are:

• A — Blindness and low vision
• B — Deaf and Hard of Hearing
• C — Locomotor disability, including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims, muscular dystrophy, and one-leg or one-arm-one-leg affected
• D — Autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness
• E — Multiple disabilities from among categories A to D, including deaf-blindness

If a suitable PwBD candidate is not available in a notified category, the post may be filled by interchange among the five categories. If no PwBD candidate at all is available, the post will be filled by a candidate without disability.

Eligibility Criteria

Age limit: 28 years as on 16 September 2026, for all posts. CGPA and Percentage Rules

• Where a university’s degree certificate or mark sheet states both CGPA and percentage, meeting either one is enough.
• Where only CGPA is stated, that CGPA itself must meet the eligibility norm. Converting CGPA into a percentage is not permitted, even if the university has its own conversion formula. The same rule applies in reverse where only a percentage is stated.
• For dual or integrated degree programmes: if the certificate states separate CGPA/percentage for the graduate and postgraduate parts, only the graduate-level figure is considered. If one common CGPA/percentage covers the whole programme, that figure is used. If the university sets no CGPA/percentage at all, the cumulative figure from the final or consolidated mark sheet is used.

Selection Process

Selection has two stages: a written test/CBT, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.

Written Test/CBT Pattern

Written test qualifying marks: Unreserved candidates need 50% in Part A and 50% in Part B, each separately. PwBD candidates, wherever a post is reserved, need 40% in Part A and 40% in Part B, each separately.

The written test/CBT will be held at 37 centres: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kavaratti, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. ICRB reserves the right to change a venue or reallot a candidate to another centre. No travel allowance is paid for attending the written test.

Interview and Final Merit

Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5, based on written test performance, with a minimum aggregate of 10 candidates. For reserved posts, additional candidates are shortlisted separately in the same ratio.

Aggregate qualifying criteria: Unreserved candidates need 50% in the written test and 50% in the interview, with a 60% aggregate. PwBD candidates, wherever a post is reserved, need 40% in each stage, with a 50% aggregate.

The final panel is prepared with 50% weightage to the written test and 50% to the interview. In case of a tie, merit is decided in order by: marks in the written test/CBT, then marks in the essential qualification, then date of birth, with the older candidate placed higher. ISRO reserves the right to change the qualifying criteria for interview and final selection for administrative reasons.

Candidates attending the interview are reimbursed second-class train fare by the shortest route from the city given in their online application to the interview venue. Employed candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview; without it, they will not be permitted to appear, and no travel allowance will be paid.

Application Fee

All candidates initially pay ₹750 as a processing fee. Of this, ₹250 is a non-refundable application fee for all posts.

Refund of fee (only for candidates who appear in the written test/CBT):

• Full refund of ₹750 for candidates exempted from the application fee — women, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen.
• ₹500 refund (after deducting the ₹250 application fee) for all other candidates.
• No refund if a candidate does not appear for the written test/CBT.

Payment is accepted only online, through the Bharatkosh e-payment gateway, using internet banking, UPI, or a domestic debit card. Cash, cheque, draft, money order and IPO are not accepted. The last date to pay the fee is the same as the last date to apply: 16 September 2026.
