Stipend per month

The stipend follows the notification issued by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (Western Region), Mumbai — BOAT WR/2026/529 dated 25.09.2019 — under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. RCF pays its portion monthly on a fixed date; the BOAT portion is disbursed directly to Act Apprentices by BOAT, and RCF is not responsible for any delay or non-payment from BOAT’s side. Apprentices get no benefits or allowances beyond this stipend, apart from morning breakfast, tea, and a vegetarian lunch thali in the company canteen (no reimbursement if unavailed), OPD medical facility at RCF Hospital for the trainee only, and uniform/PPE as per company policy. RCF does not provide or reimburse transportation to the place of training.

Eligibility

General rules (apply to all 16 trades)

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 25 years old as on 01.09.2026 for every trade (age relaxation below).
• The qualifying degree, diploma, or 12th-class certificate must be from a recognised University/Institute, completed as a regular, full-time course — distance learning, part-time, and correspondence-mode qualifications are not eligible.
• Allied branches of Diploma in Engineering are not applicable or acceptable — only the exact diploma branches listed in Table B qualify.
• The date of passing the final qualifying examination must be on or after 01.07.2023, and the required percentage should be from the final year or the aggregate of the last two semesters.
• Candidates who have already completed one year or more of Act Apprentice training or job experience, or who are currently pursuing higher studies, are not eligible.
• A minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination is required for every trade; a 5% relaxation applies for SC/ST and PwBD candidates.
• Trades that ask for 12th class with Science are open to candidates whose 12th-pass marksheet confirms the Science stream under the 10+2 system.

Trade-to-qualification mapping

• Accounts Executive: B.Com, BBA, or Graduation with Economics, plus basic English and computer operation knowledge.
• Secretarial Assistant / Recruitment Executive (HR): Any Graduate, plus basic English and computer operation knowledge. Candidates with Biology (only Zoology or only Botany, not both) in their graduation degree may also apply here — this is the only Table A route open to biology graduates.
• Diploma Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechanical: a Diploma in the exact matching engineering branch — no substitution across branches.
• Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) and Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant): B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with Chemistry as the major subject, under the RDSDE scheme.
• Instrument Mechanic (Chemical Plant): B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with Physics as the major subject, under the RDSDE scheme.
• Boiler Attendant, Electrician, Horticulture Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology): passed 12th class with Science under the 10+2 system, or its equivalent.

RCF Apprentice 2026-27 – Selection process

RCF selects apprentices without any written exam or interview, in three stages:

1. Merit list — drawn up purely on the percentage secured in the prescribed qualifying examination, combined with applicable reservation. Where a university awards CGPA/CPI instead of a percentage, candidates must convert it as per their university’s own norms, and submit a certificate confirming the equivalent percentage at the time of document verification.
2. Document verification — candidates on the merit list are called for document verification and must produce the printed application form along with original certificates.
3. Apprenticeship contract approval — after successful document verification, the candidate’s Apprenticeship Contract is approved on the applicable portal, NATS or NAPS. The candidate is expected to join on contract approval; failing to report on the stipulated date can lead to cancellation of candidature.

If two or more candidates score exactly equal marks (even after considering decimals), the candidate with the higher qualification is placed above; if the qualification is the same, the candidate with more marks in the preceding educational qualification is ranked higher.

2. On the RCF website, click “Recruitment” and then “Engagement of Apprentices – 2026-27.”
3. Read the full advertisement, instructions, and terms and conditions before proceeding.
4. Click “I Accept,” then “Apply Online” to open the application form.
5. Select either Trombay or Thal in the “Posting At” drop-down menu. This choice cannot be changed once submitted, and the final posting depends on the approved intake quota of that unit.
6. Keep a scanned passport-size colour photograph (JPG/JPEG, under 75 KB) and a scanned signature (JPG/JPEG, under 25 KB) ready before starting the form — the Photo Signature Resizer can help fit both files to RCF’s size limits.

• Aadhaar card (updated; the name must match all educational certificates)
• A self-operated bank account in the candidate’s own name, DBT-enabled and Aadhaar-linked (Post Office accounts are not accepted) — the stipend is credited only to this account
• Mark sheets of all years or semesters, and passing certificates for the qualifying examination
• Proof of age: SSC certificate, birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or passport (any one)
• Leaving certificates for SSC, HSC, and Graduation, along with Student ID
• Certificate from the University/Institute confirming the equivalent percentage, wherever CGPA/CPI was awarded
• Medical fitness certificate from a registered government or municipal hospital doctor, in RCF’s prescribed format (Annexure A) — no other format is accepted
• Caste certificate (Annexure B) for SC/ST candidates; OBC (NCL) certificate in central government format for OBC (NCL) candidates; EWS certificate for EWS candidates; and, where applicable, a certificate for children/family members of the victims of the 1984 riots

Candidates may apply without the final passing certificate in hand, but the original must be submitted at document verification, or the candidature will be cancelled.
