SSB Recruitment 2026-Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on closing date):
- Most posts: 18-27 years
- Constable (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter): 18-23 years
- Constable (Carpenter): 18-25 years
- Sub Inspector & some others: Not exceeding 30 years
Age Relaxation (as per Central Govt rules):
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years + military service deduction
- Departmental candidates: Up to 40/43/45 years
- J&K/Ladakh domiciled (1980-89): 5/8/10 years
- 1984 riot victims’ dependents: 5/8/10 years
Educational & Professional Qualification (post-wise essential):
- ASI posts: 12th pass + 2-year Diploma in relevant field (Radiography, Pharmacy, OT Technology, Dental Hygienist) + 1 year experience in 100-bed hospital/institute
- Constable (Veterinary/Driver/Nursing): 10th pass + specific experience/license/First Aid certificate
- Constable (Trades): Matric + 2 years experience / ITI certificate / Diploma + trade test (multi-skilled preferred)
- SI posts: 12th + GNM Diploma & registration (Staff Nurse) OR Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Pioneer) OR Bachelor’s in Electronics/Computer Science/IT (Communication)
- HC posts: 12th pass + Diploma/ITI in relevant trade (Catering, Electronics, Electrician, Veterinary) + experience where required
- Medical HC/Constable: 12th/10th + 1-year certificate course + 1 year experience in lab/physio/nursing
All certificates must be possessed on the closing date. Date of birth & name as per Matriculation certificate only.
