Unmarried female candidates can apply online for Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police) posts.
This is a 4-year short-service opportunity for 10th-pass women with good physical standards. Online registration has started.

Indian Army Agniveer Women Recruitment 2026-Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: 17½ – 22 years (born between 01 July 2005 and 01 July 2009, both days inclusive)
Upper age relaxation up to 30 years for widows of Defence personnel who died in harness (as on date of joining training). - Educational Qualification:
Class 10th / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate (5 subjects) and minimum 33% in each subject.
Indian Gorkhas: Class 10th simple pass.
Candidates awaiting 10th results can apply but must produce original marksheet at Phase-II. - Marital Status: Only unmarried women. Widowed/divorced/separated women without children are also eligible (subject to other criteria). Widows of Defence personnel (even with children) eligible only if not remarried.
- Physical Standards:
- Height: Minimum 162 cm
- Weight: As per BMI chart (detailed table in notification)
- Chest Expansion: 5 cm
4 cm height relaxation for North East states, Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Ladakhis & recognised tribals.
Additional 2 cm height & 2 kg weight relaxation for widows of Defence personnel; 2 cm height & 5 kg weight for outstanding sportswomen.

Salary / Pay Scale
Agniveer Package (monthly, approximate):
- 1st Year: ₹30,000
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500
- 4th Year: ₹40,000
On completion of 4 years:
- Seva Nidhi Package ≈ ₹10.04 Lakh (₹5.02 Lakh contribution by Agniveer + matching by Government)
- Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakh
- Skill certificate issued at exit. No pension or gratuity.
Selection Process
The recruitment is in two phases:
- Phase-I: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) – 50 or 100 MCQs (1 or 2 hours) in 13 languages. Normalised marks used.
- Phase-II (Recruitment Rally):
- Physical Fitness Test (1.6 km run, 7 ft ditch, zig-zag balance, pull-ups)
- Physical Measurement Test
- Medical Examination (by Army doctors)
Final merit list prepared after bonus marks (NCC, sports, wards of Defence personnel – max 25 marks).
