Selection Process

Here’s how candidates will be selected:

1. Shortlisting for Interview: Applications are filtered based on NEET PG marks/percentile, converted to “calculated NEET PG marks” (out of 200). Candidates (up to 8 times the vacancies) are called for interview based on these marks.
2. Interview: Conducted by a Board of Officers in June 2025 at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt. Candidates must secure at least 50% in the viva-voce.
3. Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying the interview undergo a Special Medical Examination Board (SMB). Those declared ‘UNFIT’ can apply for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) or Review Medical Board (RMB), subject to DGAFMS discretion.
4. Merit List: Prepared by combining calculated NEET PG marks (out of 200) and interview marks (out of 50). Medically fit candidates are issued joining instructions based on vacancies.

How to Apply for Medical Officer in AFMS

1. Visit the official website: www.join.afms.gov.in.
2. Click on the “NEW REGISTRATION” button and follow the steps.
3. Register using your email address and receive an OTP to log in.
4. Complete the application form with accurate details (Name, Father’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Email).
5. Upload the following scanned documents:
   • Passport-size photograph (JPEG, up to 100 KB, not older than 6 months).
   • Class X/Matriculation Certificate or Birth Certificate (PDF, up to 200 KB, in English).
   • Final MBBS Part-I & II attempt certificate.
   • Internship completion certificate.
   • NEET PG scorecard.
   • PG Degree certificate (if applicable).
   • Aadhar Card.
6. Pay the application fee of ₹200 online.
7. Save the transaction number and check the website/registered email for updates.
8. Bring the following original documents for verification at the interview:
   • Matriculation Certificate/Birth Certificate (in English).
   • Aadhar Card.
   • Permanent Medical Registration Certificate.
   • Internship Completion Certificate.
   • MBBS Degree Certificate, PG Degree Certificate (if applicable).
   • Final MBBS (Part-I & II) Attempt Certificate or Transcript.
   • NEET PG scorecard.
   • No Objection Certificate (if employed).
   • NCC Certificate (if any).
   • National Board of Examination Certificate (for Foreign Medical Graduates).
   • Passport (for Foreign Medical Graduates).
   • Gazette Notification (if name changed post-Matriculation).
   • 10 passport-size photographs (not older than 6 months), photo ID, and address proof.
   • Five attested copies of the Attestation Form (available on the website).
9. Download the admit card from the website at least one week before the interview (starting June 19, 2025).
